The market was launched as a trial project for eight weeks last summer, and spokesperson Sandy Garnet said it was so well received they've brought it back for a full run in 2014. The market will run every Wednes- day from May 21 until Sept. 10 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Library Park in Clinton, presented by the Clinton and Central Huron BIA. Garnet said customers of the mar- ket will be able to find a wide variety of items including stoneworks, potted plants, fresh vegetables and produce, baked goods and fresh meat to name just a few. They currently have approximately 10 vendors but have enough room to accommodate 20, Garnet said. "We like to keep our vendors mostly Central Huron -based," Gar- net said. They are making a conscious effort to ramp up the public's knowledge about the farmer's market with increased signage that will stay up during the entire summer. Garnet said she believes farmer's markets are so popular because peo- ple are really accepting the idea of "buying locally." "I think given the opportunity, people would like to know who is producing the products they buy," Garnet said. The first market of the year will feature a "sausage on a bun" BBQ, and Garnet said they will have spe- cial events monthly throughout the summer. She also encouraged community groups and non-profit organizations that would like increased exposure to contact her about having a table present at the market.
