For the past 20 years a small group
of people have gathered to have con-
versations in Huron County.
This Friday night group is run out of
the home of Varna resident Brian 0'
Reilly.
0' Reilly, a counselor and relation-
ship expert, has found himself working
with professional sports teams, Olym-
pic athletes, business teams, families
and couples and coaching company
executives.
When he started up his counseling
business, 0' Reilly said he wanted to
be able to find a way to offer the same
kind of helpful conversations for free.
Thus he started the Friday night
group and two decades later, it goes on
strong.
0' Reilly said sometimes there are as
many as 25 people who attend or as lit-
tle as four.
The group has drawn people from as
far away as London, Kitchener/Water-
loo and Toronto, with some being con-
stant members for the past 20 years.

It focuses on freeforming conversa-
tion and discussion
"We ask questions. We ask each
other, "What do you want to talk
about?" 0' Reilly said. "There is never
a planned or determined topic."
People are free to take a lead role in
the conversation or just sit back and
listen.
According to 0' Reilly, "Friday night
group is for people who are fed up with
the world and seek positive change
through challenging dialogs, discus-
sions and self-evaluation."
"The discussions in the group look at
how psychological consciousness is
constructed and examine all the
human problems in relationships such
as fear, jealousy, insecurity, loneliness,
ego self, meditation and what it means
to be a creative, free spirit!'
It gives people who are fed up with
organized religion, self-help routines
and "new age" methods a place to
"question, examine and inquire into
the human experience." 0' Reilly said.

The people in the group are seeking
to gain an understanding of internal
psychology, which 0' Reilly said is
defined "as a movement not put
together by thought."
"We want to remove external psy-
chology from our lives," 0' Reilly said.
"External psychology creates the
habits that poison all human relation-
ships and kill human performance,"
he said. "These habits we all know:
criticism, humiliation, punishment,
guilt, rewarding to control, blaming
and many more."
"When we remove these habits by
gaining an understanding of them, we
become more loving and caring, and
create more connected
relationships."
