Clinton Veterinary Services and Second Chance Pets of
Huron County team up to host fundraiser yard sale

Clinton Veterinary Services
was hopping Friday morning
not with rabbits but with
enthusiastic yard sale goers.
The good-sized yard sale was a
fundraiser organized by Sec-
ond Chance Pets of Huron
County, a new independent
pet rescue service. The main
goal of the fundraiser was to
earn money needed to spay,
neuter and care for local ani-
mals as well as to get them
adopted. So far, the rescue
service has rescued two cats
and two dogs who are cur-
rently being cared for in local
homes.
Founders of Second Chance
Pets of Huron County, Julie
Denomme, Kara Gosleigh and
Laurie Hill, have a long history
of caring for animals and do
not want to see the yard sale
fundraiser disappear as a
result of changes at the SPCA.
As Denomme said, "the SPCA
has made changes and
decided to forfeit the yard
sale." Denomme, Gosleigh
and Hill, however, are deter-
mined to continue the fund-
raiser well in the future.
Sitting right on Hwy 8, Clin-
ton Veterinary Services, which
supports Second Chance Pets
of Huron County and provides
their veterinary services to
their animals, is naturally an
excellent location for the yard
sale. By noon on Friday,
around 50 people had already
attended the event, a number
which Gosleigh was thrilled
with. For more information
regarding Second Chance Pets
of Huron County, the service
can be reached through
Facebook.
