Transformed into a superstar overnight, Joe's dreams are realized as he leads the team in both hitting and pitching. But when Joe finally realizes the trade-off between youth and experience, he begins to miss the life and the wife he left behind. Moore is thrilled to be doing a production that is not only brimming with memorable music, exuberant dancing, and plenty of comedy, but she gets to learn her lines on the beach. But more than that, she is thrilled to be in a production where the talented Michaeal Lichefeld (South Pacific) is the director and choreogra- pher. "This is a real treat," says this seasoned actor who is also pleased that Steve Thomas is music director. (South Pacific). Moore says the audi- ence is going to love Damn Yankees as it is a great, touching musical set in the 1950s. " I am sure Meg is a huge Doris Day fan," she says of her character. With his wife Monica due to fly home to England for a short break, Fisher is planning to spend his birthday in quiet indulgence. Yet, as with most foolproof plans, events do not play out precisely as they should. When Monica's plane is delayed, she returns home, fol- lowed in speedy succession by Fishers mistress Heidi; avolup- tuous singing telegram girl named Mitzi; Leslie Tregunter- Jones, a hard-nosed represent- ative from Midland Motors; and Walter Cadwallader from British Security, who is anx- iously awaiting the arrival of Hans, a top industrial spy from the East. Amid a great many comings -and -goings and con- siderable confusion, Peter tries every scheme imaginable to unravel the mess and maintain his cover, his marriage and his mistress. Look, No Hans! proves to be hilarious entertainment under the direction of Wade Lynch, who keeps things moving along at a rapid fire pace. Lynch, a skilled comedic performer in his own right, gives the cast plenty of stumbles, double - takes and other shenanigans to make for a delightfully silly spy comedy. With his Bond-esque good looks and goofy charm, Kevin Kruchkywich is perfectly amia- ble and befuddled as Peter Fisher, the hopeful yet hapless uncover agent stumbling to gain control of his frenzied life. He is hilarious. Kruchkywich is a seasoned performer, having appeared in productions all over the world. He makes his Drayton Entertainment debut in Look, No Hans! and is a wel- come addition to the stage. Kaitlyn Riordan is clever and quick-witted as Peter's trusting wife Monica, her confusion building with each bizarre tum of events. Caitlin Stewart reveals her adept comic timing and tenacity (among other assets) as Peter's glamorous German mistress Heidi, while Steffi DiDomenicantonio is appro- priately curvaceous and naive as Mitzi, the singing telegram girl who spends much of her time perfecting the art of ome- lette making. All three actresses make their Drayton Entertain- ment debuts in this production. Newcomer Jacob James delivers a wildly entertaining performance as Cadwallader, the British Security Agent who crumbles into panic when Peter persuades him that Mon- ica is a mad axe -wielding in-law with an insatiable appetite for men. Drayton Entertainment favourite Susan Johnston -Col- lins is perfectly cast as Tre- gunter-Jones, a by -the -book representative of Midland Motors. Audiences will recog- nize her from last season's hit production of Weekend Comedy. Set Designer David Antscherl succeeds in crafting a playful and versatile set reflecting the Berlin location and techno- industrial influences of mid - 1980's Europe. Lighting Designer Simon Day sets a per- fect mood for the plethora of outrageous scenes, while Cos- tume Designer Holly Lloyd cre- ates fun outfits that clearly place each character in the shoulder - pads -and -excess era of a 1986 fanatical farce. "Look, No Hans! is comedy at its best," says Mustakas. "Its outrageous combination of mistaken identities, silly espio- nage and startling revelations make for non-stop laughs. It is bound to be one of the funniest shows this season:' Tickets may be purchased online at www.huroncountry- playhouse.com, in person at the Huron Country Playhouse Box Office, or by calling (519) 238-6000 or toll free 1-855-DRAYTON (372-9866). • s June 20 - 26 w } p S !_ Fri&Sat €:45 & 9:15 Sun -Thur 0:00 Sat & Sun Mat 1:30
