Bayfield Arena Is Open for Business
....Including Ice!!
The Bayfield Arena Community Partners proved Monday night that
anything is possible with the right people, the right plan and a huge backing
of community support.
We are very pleased to announce that our community plan, including ice,
for the Bayfield Community Center was unanimously passed by Bluewater
council.
We would like to thank everyone who supported us throughout this
long process. Special thanks goes out to Virtual High School, The Baker
Family Foundation, The McBride Family, Pete and Marge Payne, John and
Kathleen Siertsema, the 700+ people who signed our petition to keep the ice
, councilors who supported us and the general community, businesses and
organizations who consistently pushed us to represent them to the end.
We have lots of new and innovative ideas to make this facility busy all year
round. Included are new trade shows such as an Outdoorsman Show, Wine
Show, Car Show, Motor Cycle Show, along with Dance Lessons, Dance
Theme Nights, 4 Hockey Tournaments (Men's, Ladies, Over 35 and Tyke),
All Ages Power Skating Clinics, Indoor Campouts, and Kids Concerts just
to name a few. We are making sure there is something for everyone.
Shinny Ball Hockey has already started Wednesday nights from 7-8 for
kids and 8-9 for adults all summer at no charge. Thank You Bluewater
Retreats for your sponsorship. This is a great opportunity to drop your kids
off and check out the new Foodland, have a quiet dinner downtown, or a
walk on the beach.
Keep your eyes on newspapers, signs, the Bayfield Breeze or check us out
on Facebook, Twitter, or our web page @ BACP.ca<http://BACP.ca> for a
list of dates and times for events as they become scheduled.
As with any new ideas comes the requirement of help. If anyone would like
to offer their assistance of any sort, have any ideas, be interested in helping
organizing an event, or being part of The Bayfield Arena Community
Partners please contact Chair Ron Keys at 519-236-3031 or Vice Chair Bill
Whetstone at 519-565-2023.
See you at the Bayfield Community Center!!
Sincerely, Ron Keys
