Our International team is
now on the road looking for
new host families to pro-
vide a home away from
home for our international
students coming in Sep-
tember. We are expecting
over 120 students from
around the world to attend
Avon Maitland schools in
Huron and Perth Counties
for the 2014-2015 school
year.
We will have short term,
one semester and full year
students coming from coun-
tries like Spain, Brazil, Mexico,
Germany, Japan, China and
even Australia. Hosting an
international student is a
rewarding experience for you
and your family and of course
a once in a lifetime experience
for your international guest.
Most of these students are
coming to Canada for the
very first time and many
travelling beyond their home
for the first time.
Canada, and in particular
Ontario, has an impressive
reputation around the world
for the quality of our educa-
tion. Thousands of students
from every corner of the
earth look to Canada each
year for a great education, a
new cultural experience and
to improve their English lan-
guage skills. The numbers
continue to grow every year.
We began promoting our
schools not too long ago, in
the fall of 2011. Since that
time we have truly become a
destination of choice. In our
first year we attracted 29 stu-
dents. We followed that with
88 students this year and we
are on target to grow by as
much as 40% for the 2014-
2015 school year.
This benefits our schools
and communities in many
ways. It creates a more diverse
population providing our stu-
dents with a more global per-
spective. It allows the Board to
maintain many course offer-
ings that might have been in
jeopardy because of declining
enrolment. It also saves valu-
able jobs in our schools and in
some cases creates new
employment opportunities. It
also contributes to the local
economy because these are
fee -paying students, who also
pay for home stay services
and bring along their own
personal spending money.
100 full-time equivalent stu-
dents would inject more that
over $2 million into our local
economy. Now with this
growth, there are challenges.
We need more active families
across Huron and Perth to
provide a home away from
home for our international
guests. The experience is
priceless and host families are
compensated. Contact us
today to find out how it all
works, how you and your fam-
ily can benefit and how your
participation will help our
schools. We have representa-
tives in all regions of our dis-
trict who will visit with you
and answer all of your ques-
tions. For more information

Chronic pain relief now available
at Clinton Chiropractic and
Wellness Centre
Special to the News Record
Cold laser with micro cur-
rent therapy promotes a nat-
ural healing process at the
cellular level.
When injury occurs the
inflammatory process
causes pressure on the nerve
endings to immobilize the
area, causing pain. As cold
laser with micro current
repairs injured tissue, toxins
that are caused by inflam-
mation, are removed from
the cell making it very effec-
tive for relief acute or
chronic pain.
When exposed to cold
laser with micro current, the
targeted body part increases
metabolism of cells and
improves blood circulation
thus inflamed tissue heals
faster. This offers relief of
pan by reducing
inflammation, increasing
range of motion and improv-
ing cell production.
Laser therapy also pro-
motes the growth of new
skin cells by stimulating
blood circulation that nour-
ishes and oxygenates from
the inside out. Increased
lymph circulation which
removes waste and toxins
results in diminished swell-
ing and improved appear-
ance of skin.
Cold laser with micro cur-
rent works well in combina-
tion with other therapies
such as chiropractic and reg-
istered massage therapy.
It provides a safe and reli-
able option for those seeking
relief of pain without drugs
or surgery.
"I am pain free, have full
range of motion and was
able to avoid surgery" KG
"It is a marvelous for any-
one with pain" CP
"This is amazing, I can't
believe the relief in such a
short time" JP
Specific restrictions
apply. Cold laser therapy
should not be used on a
suspicious cancerous
lesion or carcinoma, over
the thyroid or eyes. Since
the effects on unborn chil-
dren are not yet known it
is not recommended dur-
ing pregnancy. A series of
five to 15 treatments may
be required depending on
the severity and duration
of the condition for relief
of pain.
Cold laser with micro cur-
rent is now offered by Janet
Brunswick RNCP, R.BIE at
Clinton Chiropractic and
Wellness Centre.
Janet's career started as a
registered practical nurse
and during this time she
developed a devoted inter-
est to preventative, natural
and holistic health care.
Janet offers nutritional
coaching as a registered
nutritional consultant prac-
titioner and tests for food
and environmental sensi-
tivities through applied
kinesiology. Janet offers
BioEnergetics (BIE) that
restores balance back to
through various meridians
(an ancient Chinese prac-
tice) and allows the body's
vital life energy to heal the
distressed organ or tissue.
Janet believes in supporting
the needs of the body, mind
and spirit to bring back vitality
and wellbeing ... allowing the
body to heal itself.
