COUNTYHURON
COUNTY OF HURON
MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
TO REALIGN COUNTY ROAD 13 (BAYFIELD ROAD)
AT KING STREET
(COMMUNITY OF CLINTON)
THE PROJECT:
The County of Huron, in conjunction with the Municipality of Central Huron, is planning to redesign the
intersection of Huron County Road 13/King Street/ Matilda Street and Railway Street, immediately east
of the existing rail crossing in the southwest portion of Clinton, as shown on the attached key plan. These
modifications are proposed to create a smoother transition from County Road 13 to Railway Street, which
is planned to be reconstructed to a county road standard. Railway Street, which is currently a municipal
road, is proposed to become part of the County road network, while King Street, which is currently owned
by the County, is proposed to become a municipal road. The following additional works are proposed in
conjunction with this project:
■ Construction of a new municipal road connecting County Road 13 (Bayfield Road) to James
Street and Matilda Street, south of the rail line.
■ Closure of the King Street rail crossing south of the intersection.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL SCREENING PROCESS:
The planning for this project is following the environmental assessment process set out for Schedule B
activities under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) document. The Class EA
process involves consultation with the public and review agencies to ensure that the project can be carried
out in an environmentally -sound manner. The environmental assessment process has now been
completed. There were no negative impacts identified with the project that could not be mitigated.

St. Anne's girls rugby team finishes
third at OFSAA championships
This past week was full of fun for all of
the staff and students at St. Anne's. It
was also a short week, because of the
PD day on Friday. Friday was also prom
for all of the graduating students at St.
Anne's. The theme for this year was
Heels and Hay Bales. The night was a
great success thanks to our prom com-
mittee. All of the graduates had an
awesome time!
Monday began the start of the
OFSAA Championships for our Girls'
Rugby team and our Tennis players.
The girls finished third overall. The
junior boys' and girls' soccer teams
also competed in the Huron Perth
Semi -Finals on Monday and our
Track and Field athletes competed at
OFSAA.
The week ended off on Thursday with
our 6th annual Outside-a-palooza. The
day consisted of half an hour classes,
followed by an amazing outdoor Mass.
The mass featured a Christian rock
band and Father Chris. Sadly, this was
our last time celebrating with Father
Chris. We wish him well as he serves a
parish in Wallaceburg and we would
like to thank him for all the wonderful
things he has done for the school! After
Mass we had a free barbecue and then
the afternoon was filled with lots of fun
outdoor and carnival games and inflat-
ables. The weather was fantastic for our
church picnic and everyone had an
excellent day, thanks to our student
cabinet and teacher volunteers! Stu-
dents from St. Mary's in Goderich, St.
Columban and Precious Blood from
Exeter also came out to enjoy the cele-
bration and fun.
We host a French and Arts Festival
this week while our Gr. 12s are on
retreat. Our Gr. 11s head out on a tem-
ple tour and then quiet week begins.
We all slow down and head into exam
preparations.
