HURON TWP - On June
26, 2014 at 8:57 pm, mem-
bers of the South Bruce
Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) responded to a fail
to remain crash involving
a bicycle on Concession
12 in Huron Township.
The involved vehicle
wasn't at the scene when
officers arrived.
The cyclist continues to
recover in hospital after
being air lifted for treat-
ment of serious, but non-
life threatening injuries.
OPP Technical Traffic
Collision Investigation unit
and OPP Forensic Identifi-
cation unit are assisting the
South Bruce OPP with this
investigation.
Investigators are look-
ing to speak with the
driver of an International
Eagle, straight truck or
transport truck. The truck
will have damage around
the passenger side head-
light and the driver may
not be aware of the crash.
The South Bruce OPP is
requesting anyone with
information that can assist

MORRIS-TURNBERRY -
An impaired driver has
been charged after a two
vehicle collision. Just
before 1:30 a.m. on July 6,
2014 Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP)
officers were dispatched to
the collision scene located
on St. Michael's Road at
Clyde Line.
OPP officers arrived and
were able to determine the
driver of Ford F-150 pickup
was travelling eastbound on
St. Michael's Road when he
sideswiped a Pontiac Fire-
bird as he was attempting to
pass. The driver of the Ford
pickup proceeded to lose
control of his truck where-
upon his truck entered the
ditch and rolled. The pickup
driver and his passenger sus-
tained minor injuries from
the collision.
Officers spoke with the
driver of the Ford pickup
and noted the driver had
consumed alcohol and
was displaying signs that
he was impaired by alco-
hol. He was arrested for
Impaired Driving and was
transported to the Huron
OPP Detachment for
breath tests. He provided
two samples of his breath

to a qualified Intoxilizer
Technician and both read-
ings were over the legal
limit.
As a result, a 22 year old
male from Morris -Turn -
berry has been charged
with Impaired Operation
and Drive Motor Vehicle
with Over 80 Milligrams of
Alcohol. He has been
released from custody
with a court date sched-
uled for July 28, 2014 at
the Ontario Court of Jus-
tice - Goderich.
CENTRAL HURON - A
38 year old driver is now
facing charges of Racing
and Drive a Motor Vehicle
With Over 80 Milligrams
of Alcohol following a traf-
fic stop Friday afternoon.
On July 4, 2014 shortly
before 6:00 p.m. a West
Region Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) traffic unit
member observed the
driver of Dodge Dakota
racing 50 km/h over the
posted 80 km/h speed
limit on Bluewater Veter-
an's Highway.
The pickup truck was
stopped on Bluewater Veter-
an's Highway near Kitchig-
ami Road and upon speak-
ing with the driver the officer
noted the driver had been
consuming alcohol. A
roadside screening test was
completed and the driver
registered a fail. He was
transported to the Huron
OPP detachment for breath
tests and both tests regis-
tered above the legal limit.
As a result, a 38 year old
male from Sarnia, ON has
been charged with Drive
Motor Vehicle with Over
80 Milligrams of Alcohol
and Race a Motor Vehicle.
He has been released from
custody with a court date
scheduled for July 28, 2014
at the Ontario Court of
Justice - Goderich.
MORRIS-TURNBERRY -
Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP)
officers are currently
investigating the theft of a
Yamaha ATV that was sto-
len on July 2, 2014 at 4:45
a.m.. A Stone School
Road home owner
reported he was sleeping
when he was awakened by
the sound of an All -Ter-
rain Vehicle (ATV) driving
around his property. He
checked for his ATVs that
were parked near his
garage and noticed one of
his ATVs was missing. He
yelled at two suspects that
were getting ready to take
off on another ATV. One
of the suspects took off

Yamaha, 450 cc engine that
has a large plastic compart-
ment on the back rack.
The suspects are
believed to between 14 to
20 years of age. They were
dressed in all black cloth-
ing and were wearing
black helmets.

MORRIS-TURNBERRY -
Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officers
are currently investigating
the theft of a 2013 Moto
Guzzi motorcycle that was
stolen from a Brandon
Street residence located in
Belgrave. Sometime
around 2:15 a.m. on June
28, 2014 those responsible
attended the property and
managed to steal the
motorbike that was parked
in the laneway.
The Moto Guzzi V7
Stone is an all -black, 750
cc engine, with a very loud
exhaust. It is commonly
described as a cafe style
racing bike. The motorcy-
cle is valued at approxi-
mately $10,000.

Five Generations
Helen Turner of Varna
recently celebrated her
98th birthday
and was presented with
a certificate from the
Municipality of Bluewater
by Mayor Bill Dawson.
Earlier this year Helen
became a great -great
grandmother for the first
time to Bryleigh Lynnae
Willert, daughter of
Blake and Ashley Willert,
Lethbridge, Albert.
