Agnes Waanders is the newest Nurse Practitioner at the
Clinton Family Health Team.
Working with Dr. Peter Salsbury on a half-time basis,
Waanders will help provide care for more than 1,600
patients at the practice. She finished her masters at the Uni-
versity of Western Ontario last year, and is back in Clinton
as a newly -minted Nurse Practitioner.
She has worked as a community nurse in the area for
eight years, serving the Clinton, Goderich and Bayfield
areas. With her newest appointment, Waanders said she is
excited to be working close to home.

Clinton Family Health Team. Waanders will be seeing patients
in Salsbury's fold, and said she is excited to be working with
people from across the age spectrum at the practice.
A nurse of 25 years, she practiced in
Holland for years before coming to
Canada 13 years ago. She began in
obstetrics, helping out in her teens
before heading to university and nurs-
ing for another decade before coming
to Canada.
Getting her certifications in Canada
was a trying process, she said, but infi-
nitely worthwhile. She said she is look-
ing forward to working with patients
across the entire scope of life, from
birth to death. As a Nurse Practitioner,
she will also be making many patient
care decisions on her own as well as
with consult from Dr. Salsbury.
"We're thrilled to have Agnes here,"
Salsbury said. "The entire team is
thrilled and we look forward to this
working relationship for years to
come."
With his duties split between the
hospital, ER and practice, the addition
of Waanders will help expedite care for
patients at the health team office.

Celebration time
Sunday was a big occasion for the Salvation Army in Clinton, with the grand
opening of their new family services office on Albert Street. Friends and well-
wishers stopped by for the open house, and to take in the relocated offices which
come complete with more storage space for the food bank as well as offices that
allow better client confidentiality.
"We desire this place to be a beacon of love," said Lt. David Hickman prior to the
ribbon cutting. "And there is space for you to shine your little light."
The new location has gotten great feedback from clients, and the transition was
a smooth one.
