So many opportu- nities for growth, spiritual development and action in an unprecedented year of events. Through parish workshops, the diocesan convention and "Catch the Fire" workshops through- out the region, we have truly been enriched. Many of us had the opportunity in April to attend the CWL Convention in Stratford with the theme: Companions on a Journey. Here, ladies throughout the London Diocese gathered to help bring about change on world issues needing our faithful input. Joy Smith, MP was a keynote speaker bringing our attention to the every -increasing prob- lem of human trafficking... an enslavement of vulnera- ble young people in the sex trade. We learned insights, tools and resources on how we can prevent and stop this terrible crime and its tragic outcomes for victims. We were encouraged to become "women who ena- ble women" - proactive, encouraging and inviting - and to ask more, "How can I help you?" The League provides a wonderful opportunity for learning, praise and faith sharing and has a powerful political voice in making our world a better place. A quote that stuck with us is from this day, "We are all just walking each other home." - Ram Dess. Another significant high- light was attending one of many "Catch the Fire" workshops throughout the region in conjunction with the proclaimed Year of Faith. A workshop created to enliven and enrich the CWL through personal development and spiritual growth once again gave motivation to change how the world perceives us as faithful women in action.
