Rough week for basketball, volleyball teams

The start of a new semester means high school sports are
back in action.
However, this was a rough week for Clinton sports.
In boys basketball, the Central Huron boys hosted Mitchell
Friday, Feb. 7. Junior player Lucas Godkin scored 18 points in
a close 41-45 loss for CHSS. The senior team lost 37-46 to
Mitchell.
The St. Anne's Eagles headed to Stratford to take on St.
Mike's and Northwestern Feb. 6, each taking two losses. The
junior boys played a couple high -scoring affairs, losing 67-46
to the Warriors and 48-33 to Northwestern.
The senior boys weren't as successful at the hoop, ending
up on the short end of a 66-15 game for St. Mike's and 59-29
against Northwestern.
The Eagles were in Goderich Feb. 5 to play the Vikings, with
the juniors one basket shy of GDCI, 30-32. The seniors lost
34-62.
On Feb. 3, the Phoenix took on the Vikings, with the juniors
getting doubled in a 26-52 loss and the senior boys defeated
37-50. St. Anne's hosted Listowel, winning 52-23.
In girls hockey, St. Anne's and CHSS squared off at the Cen-
tral Huron Community Complex Feb. 5, with the Eagles skat-
ing to a 5-1 win over the Phoenix.
The St. Anne's boys hockey team took on St. Mike's to start
the week, playing to a 6-6 tie.
In girls volleyball Central Huron traveled to Goderich this
week„ with the Vikings junior and senior teams beating the
Phoenix. The CHSS senior girls lost two sets to one against
GDCI, while the junior team were downed in three straight
sets.
On Feb. 4 CHSS junior girls took three straight sets over F.E.
Madill on the volleyball court, while the St. Anne's senior girls
lost three against South Huron.

PLAN NUMBER 7-3-930 PLEASING TWO-STOREY FAMILY HOME
A front door graced with a central oval window and flanked by side -lights
enhances the old-world elegance of this pleasing two-storey, three-bedroom
family home.
The covered porch, a boon in poor weather, leads to a foyer that includes a
display area for collectibles or plants. To the left is the coat closet, and to the
right is a staircase to the second floor and unfinished basement (included in
the plans).
