HPCDSB board of trustees elect new chair and vice -chair At its inaugural meeting of the board of trustees on Dec. 2, Bemard Murraywas elected to the position of chair of the Huron -Perth Catholic District School Board. A retired dairy farmer and former secondary school teacher, Murray's experience as a trustee dates back to 1986 with the former Huron - Perth County Roman Catho- lic Separate School Board. This is his eighth term as chair of the board. Murray said that he is delighted to be elected as chair of the board for the upcoming year. "I look forward to worldng with my fellow trustees as we assist administration and staff in delivering 21st century qual- ity education to the students who come to our schools," Murray said. "The goal is to develop the academic, physi- cal, and spiritual potential of each student under our care while making efficient use of the available resources." Murray represents the areas of Perth South, St. Marys and West Perth. Mike Miller, also an expe- rienced trustee of the Board, was acclaimed to the posi- tion of vice -chair.
