Ways to donate at this
year's Santa Claus parade

This Friday night the Clin-
ton and District Kinsmen and
Kinette Club will proudly pre-
sent Clinton's 18th Annual
Santa Claus Parade. The
parade will commence at 7
p.m. at the Clinton Raceway
and continue along Main
Street.
This year organizers of the
parade want to give people a
friendly reminder to bring
socks and mitts to the parade
as the Clinton Girl Guides will
once again be collecting and
donating the items to the
Christmas Bureau for kids and
adults. At last year's parade
the Clinton Girl Guides col-
lected a total of 300 pairs. The
Clinton Girl Guides is an
active unit and always looking
for ways to be involved in the
community. The unit is also
always looking for new mem-
bers. The units meet at the
Clinton legion on Mondays
from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. and
people can register online at

Organizers of this year's
Santa Claus parade would
also like to remind people to
bring non-perishable food
items, as the Vanastra Lions
will be collecting donations
for the Food Bank, as well as
any letters to Santa Claus
that children may have
written.

On Friday evening folks gathered at the Clinton Public Hospital
to celebrate the Lighting of the Gift of Light, an annual event that
celebrates the lighting of a large, attractive pine tree across the
street from the hospital. Throughout the past few weeks people
have been able to purchase Christmas lights for the tree either
as a gift, donation or in memory of a loved one and all proceeds
will go towards purchasing new or replacement equipment for
the hospital.
