This past Sunday, as part of the live racing card, Clinton Raceway welcomed local students Will and Claire Fleming to celebrate their bike across Canada this past spring. The two set out in early April to bike the 7650km with the hopes of raising $1 for every kilometre biked. To date they have raised over $41,000. They wrapped up their fundraising efforts with bike raffle at the races, adding over $500 to the total for Canadian Tire Jumpstart. Jumpstart was on hand to present the two with a trophy for all of their success. On track owner/trainer Denis Jewitt of Wingham had a second place finish in the first race of the days card with Kendal Gucci. Kennairn Crystal was the post time favourite in race three, managing a second for owner/trainer Kris Haskell of Goderich and driver Ryan Holliday. Live For Today, owned by Catherine and Darcy McClure of Clinton got away seventh in the firth race but rounded out the triactor with Bruce Richardson in the Driver's seat. Following suit, race six was another third place finish for McClure owned and trained, Eyes Of A Fool. In race 8 it was Decroft Havaball leading from the gate, holding on for a second place finish for owner Clarence Dekens of Clinton. L H Hollys Cam finished by a neck for trainer Bob Anderson, and owner Lois Anderson of Clinton in race 9. Live racing resumes this Sunday, post time 1:30pm.
