anniversary of Clinton's railcar
In honour of Clinton's School On Wheels Railcar Museum's 100th

and acted in a play based on a true event that occurred at the railcar. The
play showcases the time when Margaret Sloman, at the time just a child,
found a hobo huddled in the oven at the railcar because he was so cold.
Cela Sloman was played by Leanne Kavanagh, Margaret Sloman was played
by Robyn Hunt, the hobo was played by lan Rutherford and Fred Sloman
was played by Greg Stewart. Rutherford's play is called The Unexpected

Fiddling about at Goderich Place
At Goderich Place, almost 80 resi-
dents, volunteers and guests were
recently entertained with a sneak pre-
view of St. Anne's Reel, a new play by
Gil Garratt that's receiving its world
premiere at Blyth Festival this summer.
Artistic Director and director of St.
Anne's Reel Marion de Vries began the
evening by talking about Blyth's 40th
Season and gave a brief synopsis of the
show. The cast, David Fox, Emily
Lukasik and J.D. Nicholsen, then per-
formed two scenes and played a selec-
tion of the old-time fiddle tunes that are
woven throughout the show.
Garratt talked about his inspiration
for the show and then invited his two
sons, Gideon (8) and Gulliver (6), to
join him, and all three played their vio-
lins entertaining the gathering with a
variety of tunes.
"The residents enjoyed meeting the
actors and having a preview of the
play," says Sue LeBeau, Sales & Market-
ing Manager at Goderich Place. "The
special treat was having the children
come and play along with their Dad.
The residents are still talking about it
today. We are all looking forward to
coming to the play. Thank you for a

wondering evening," LeBeau said.
St. Anne's Reel is a moving and
humorous fictional drama about a
prodigal son and his cantankerous
father. It's the story of Daniel, a
washed-up Dollywood rhinestone
cowboy, returning to the family
farm near Wingham after many
years, to mourn his mother's death.
While there he hopes to patch
things up with his father but gets
drawn right back into scrapping
with the old man, who used to play
fiddle with the Ranch Boys on Circle
