Under the direction of the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator ("DECE") will work in collaboration with the classroom teacher to
plan and provide effective play -based education for kindergarten students in a full-day Early Learning Program.
Requirements:
• Minimum two-year community college Early Childhood Education diploma;
• Proof of current registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators;
• Recent experience as an ECE working in an Early Learning Centre or Day Care;
• Experience planning and implementing age appropriate programs;
• Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Early Learning Program and related legislation;
• Ability to communicate effectively in a sensitive and courteous manner with children,parents, staff and the general public;
• Understanding and commitment to confidentiality.
