This was the first week of the God
Squad's' Stuff That Bus' campaign. The
idea of the campaign is to raise canned
goods and non-perishable food items for
our local food banks. This year, we are
asking the Grade 9s to bring in food for
breakfast, the Grade lOs to bring food for
lunch, the Grade lis to bring in food for
dinner and the Grade 12s to bring in
snack foods and toiletries. The campaign
will run from now until May 7, and the
senior class and junior class with the most
food items will win a mystery prize.
Our Specialist High Skills Major
students had CPR training on Monday
and Tuesday this past week. Then on
Wednesday, our Concert Band partici-
pated in `Banding Together' with the
band from St. Michael's Catholic Second-
ary School in Stratford. Thursday the staff
and students watched a video about rec-
onciliation and the power of forgiving.
Everyone was then encouraged to partici-
pate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation
for the season of Lent. Thursday was also
the first day of the Junior Boys' Rugby sea-
son. The boys had a great start and we
wish them luck with their upcoming sea-
son! The week ended off with the students
versus staff volleyball game. The game
took place during fourth period and was
Lights go out at St. Anne's for Earth Hour
Last week was a big week for the Grade
10 students here at St. Anne's and all
across Ontario. On Tuesday the St. Anne's
students who were writing the Ontario
Secondary School Literacy Test this year
participated in a pep rally in order to get
last minute details and confidence about
the test. All students then wrote the liter-
acy test on Thursday. Wednesday was
the monthly civvies day here at St. Anne's.
However, students were asked to wear
purple in order to support Epilepsy.
Friday was a buy-out to see the drama
clubs play, "A Comedy of Errors" written
by William Shakespeare and adapted by
Warren Robinson. Students donated two
dollars to watch the performance during
fourth period and to support the drama
club. The week ended off with Earth
Hour on Friday. The power was turned
off in the school from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.
in order to celebrate Earth Hour. The offi-
cial Earth Hour took place on Saturday
March 29 at 8:30 p.m., all around the
world.
We're excited to support our concert
Band in a massive concert in Stratford
this upcoming week. Our Badminton
Team is off to another tournament, our
Boy's Rugby team heads off to Western
University and our `Stuff that Bus:
