MacPherson, Maclntyre make history tying for award • Intermediate (15-17 years old): Evy Verschaeve (first) Jacob Flood (second). • Senior (18-21 years old): Brad Maclntyre (first), Melissa MacIntyre (second) and Graham Falconer (third). Outstanding Member Awards were also presented for each zone to Sarah Alexander (Grey), Abby Robinson (Wawanosh) and Brooklyn Hendriks (International Plowing Match Making Club). The Ben Lobb Award, which is presented to top junior member in the essay competition, was presented to Julia DeJong. The Warden's Novice Award was taken by Megan Todd for being the top -scoring first year competitive member. Todd also received the Lucknow Co-op Award for high - scoring novice member in the sheep awards. Todd also received the Hensall District Co-op Award for high novice judge in the competition. Emily Bieman received the Canadian Co -Operative Wool Continued on page 35 Groundbreaking For the first time since its inception in 1954, the Murray Cardiff Award was presented to two winners. The award is presented to a senior 4-H member who exhibits the goals and aims of the 4-H program. When choosing a winner, judges take into account candidates leadership roles in 4-H, community involvement, ability to communicate and overall attitude. (Photo submitted) The annual Huron County 4-H Award Program was held late last month and local competitors found themselves receiving numerous awards for their efforts in the group. The Top Gate Sign Award was presented to Jessalyn Hendriks. The Go for the Gold winning team was the Hensall Life Skill Team including Katelyn Parsons, Evan Krebs, Dugald MacIntosh and Ben Speer. Krebs also received the Dedication Award for dedication to 4-H and received the Hill and Hill Farms Limited Award for High Senior Judge in the judging competition. MacIntosh received the Outstanding Member Award for Hensall in the Life Skills competition. MacIntosh also received a Libro Brook Project Award, finishing first in the novice division.
