Maitland River students know Design experts The students in Maitland River Elementary School's Grade 1A and 1D classes seem to have a handle on Santa's village and how it looks. Some thought it was a closely -guarded secret, but it seems like these students know a little something we don't. (Denny Scott photo) Maitland River Elementary School's Grade 1A class, along with some help from the 1D class, tackled the tough question of what does Santa's village look like at the North Pole. While some focused on the house and others on the workshop, they all had a unique idea of what Santa's home at the North Pole would look like. "Santa and Mrs. Claus live in the red and white pole at the North Pole. It's a lot bigger than people think, but it's still not that big because Santa is short. He's short and fat." Kiley "I think Santa's house would be blue, but it might be red because it's Christmas. Wait! No! It's brown because that's a normal colour for a house. Just because he's Santa doesn't mean everything in his life is green and red." Liliana "I think Santa's house is a square and a triangle put together to make a normal house with a roof. The triangle is red and so is the square because Santa Claus' suit is red." Connall "Santa's home looks like a candy castle. It's a castle because that is what Santa needs. That's why we give him milk and cookies, because otherwise he might eat his house." Mikayla "I think Santa's house looks like the sky. Santa doesn't live in the sky, but when he flies it's in the sky so he wants his house to look like that. Santa's place has a special spot that makes him nappy and has a room for Christmas." Kyle "I think Santa's house is red because he looks red. Santa likes red." Dante "I think Santa lives in his workshop kind of because he needs to make all the toys. It's red. I don't know why" Mylah "Santa's house looks like a shed. I watched Frosty the Snowman and it looked like a shed. It's blue because it's all windows." Rory "I think that Santa's house looks brown. I watched a movie about it. It's red too, not just brown, and it looks like a normal house." Nevaeh "Santa doesn't have a house, he has a workshop. On the inside, you can see all the tables and on the outside you can see all the elves and reindeer and lots of snow." Evan "Santa's house has to look like a big hotel because he has so many people that have to live with him to make toys. It's brown because that's the colour of a hotel." Zoey "I think Santa's house looks like it was made out of candy canes because that's what the pole at the North Pole kind of looks like." Braydon "Santa has a workshop. He doesn't have a house. The workshop is red with little white spots where the elves work. It's always under the snow." Harlee "I think Santa's house has brown walls and a roof and lots of snow on it." I forget how big it was though" Sophia "I think Santa's house is red because Santa wears red clothes and it's big because it has elves, toys, reindeer and Mrs. Claus in it." Maveric "I'm pretty sure it has lots of holly because it's always Christmas at Santa's house. I would say it's green and red, because those are Christmas colours. I would say it's fairly big with lots of elves and two special messages about the elves." Isabella "I think Santa's house is a black shed. It's a really big black shed that is black so he can find it in the snow" Rachel "Santa's house is red. It looks like a candy cane because Santa loves Christmas and candy canes, but it's not shaped like a candy cane because that would be silly." Hailey "I think that if I saw Santa's house, it would be red. It's special, with different Christmas things. It's green too because those are the Christmas colours" Sophia "Santa's house is kind of red because red is Santa's favourite colour. It's probably a big house for all the elves and toys waiting to be made." Maddy Fart P Bistro It's Been A Pleasure Serving You!
