Curling club marks end of first draw with meal
Brussels Curling Club finished its evening with a good night of curling,

Checking it twice
Due to some wintery weather, the annual Christmas
Concert at North Woods Elementary School was pushed
back. Fortunately, the dress rehearsal took place on
schedule which showed some great Christmas songs and
even better acting. Above, bringing two elves to life

The club has had a great first draw
with many new and interesting ideas
presented. Just a fun thing, that took
basically all five games for folks to
click into, was if you drop your
broom, everyone was to drop their
broom. The clatter and clang on the
ice started with a small noise and by
the last night, it was a big clatter and
lots of laughing. The group enjoyed
a night when only a six -end game
was played and then everyone
gathered to enjoy "caesar night".
The organizers had all the "special"
fixins for a very enjoyable and
"spicy" night. There was a night of
play where all players had a chance
to skip an end, to help them
understand the game from the skip's
vantage. The final night of the draw
was "crazy hat" night. The skips all
had to wear the funny hats provided
and everyone was a good sport about
it. Just little things, but all to add a
little fun to the night.
There is still room for a few more
players if anyone would like to come
out and join the club for the rest of
the curling season. Discounted rates
will apply. Call Steve Steiss at 519-
887-6670 for information and cost.
Merry Christmas to all the folks at
the Citizen. Have a great holiday!
