On Tuesday fed steers and heifers sold on an active trade at prices $1 to $2 higher. Choice steers and heifers sold $139 to $143 with a high of $164.50. Second cut sold $136 to $139. Cows sold steady. On Thursday veal and beef calves sold on an active trade at steady prices. Lambs sold on a good active trade. Sheep sold higher and goats sold steady. On Friday calves and yearlings sold on a strong active trade at fully steady prices. Leonard and Andrew Black of Proton Station, consigned 23 steers that averaged 1,542 lbs. and sold for an average price of $140.40. One bwf steer weighed 1,540 lbs. and sold for $144. Stephen Bowman of Listowel, consigned 12 steers that averaged 1,600 lbs. and sold for an average price of $136.78. One limousin steer weighed 1,615 lbs. and sold for $141. Matt Ferraro of Hanover, consigned 20 head that averaged 1,595 lbs. and sold for an average price of $148.99. One gold heifer weighed 1,530 lbs. and sold for $164.50. Dennis and Marylou Bross of Listowel, consigned three heifers that averaged 1,262 lbs. and sold for an average price of $141.33. One black heifer weighed 1,440 lbs. and sold for an average price of $151.50. There were 240 cows on offer. Export types sold $55 to $65 with sales to $70; beef, $70 to $85 to a high of $109; D1 and D2, $60 to $66; D3, $55 to $60; D4, $45 to $55. Donna Vanderham of Holland Centre, consigned one blonde cow that weighed 1,110 lbs. and sold for $109. There were 14 bulls selling $76 to $94.
