Blyth's Vincent wins big in Royal poultry categories

with SSC Penny Lane 5D.
Alex Coultes and Troy Coultes of
Brussels tied for third place in the
Junior Beef - Commercial Yearlings
category with Scott Bandband of
Gold and SSC She's a Predator 7D,
respectively. Ashleigh Higgins, also
of Brussels, placed fourth in the
competition.
Doug Vincent of Blyth brought
home first place in the Cockerel -
Hamburg AC and Pullet - Hamburg
AC categories of the Poultry
competition. In the Wyandotte,
White category, Vincent brought
home first place in the Cockerel and
Pullet competitions.
Evy Verschaeve of Blyth took fifth
place in the Junior Sheep - Junior
Showmanship competition.
Verschaeve also took fifth in the
Junior Sheep Conformation
Commercial class.
Tying with Verschaeve in the
Junior Showmanship category was
Aidan Lee of Londesborough. Lee
also brought home an eighth -place
finish in the Junior Sheep
Conformation Southdown class.
DSMR Stock Farm from
Wingham brought home third place
in the Female Calf Born in 2017,
Minimum Three Months - Heat 1
sub -category of the Angus category
of the beef show with BCII Sandy
1647. The farm also brought
home first place in the same
category in Heat 6 (copy) with
DSMR Zara 202E and fifth
place in Heat 11 with DSMR
Blackbird 104E.
Loyal Line Limousin of Goderich
took first place in the Female Heifer
Born January 1 - March 31, 2017 -
Heat 3 with Loyal Line Daisy ET as
well as claiming the Champion
Progeny of Dam title in the
Limousin category of the beef show.
The farm also placed with Loyal
Line Eleaner, fourth place in the
Heifer Calf Born in 2017, Minimum
Three Months of Age - Heat 2; Loyal
Line Dee Dee ET, fourth place in
Female Heifer Born Jan. 1 - March
31, 2017 Heat #3; Loyal Line Earl,
sixth place in Bull Calf Born in 2017
Minimum Three Months of Age -
Heat #1.
Paullor Vivitar Ramble, presented
by Paul and Lorraine Franken of
Clinton, took third place in the
Female Five -Year -Old Category of
the Dairy Cattle Show's Jersey
competition.
The farm also brought home the
eighth -place finish in the Junior
Breeder's Herd and had animals
place in the following categories:
Paullor Re -Action Radiant, 10th in
Female Junior Calf; Paullor Re -
Action Reverie took 15th place in
the same category. Other winners
from their Clinton -area farm include
Paullor Tequila Novelle who took
seventh in the Female; Intermediate
Calf division, Paullor Giller Javlyn,
14th in Female, Senior Calf; Paullor
Austen Blake, 18th in Female,
Senior Calf; Paullor Incentive
Perlee, 1 lth in Female, Senior Two -
Year -Old, Norse Star Premier
Model, 14th in Female, Junior
Three -Year -Old; Paullor Ace's
Follow, sixth in Female, Summer
Yearling and Arethusa Tequila
Blarney, 12th in Female Five -Year -
Old.
Tannis VanderMolen of Seaforth
took the top spot in the Single or
Mixed Fruit Conserve or Preserve
category in the Preservatives
competition with a Tropical Peace
Conserve. VanderMolen's other
winning preserves included a spiced
blueberry jam that took sixth in the
Blueberry Jam or Preserve category,
a chive jelly, 12th in Savory Jam or
and an orange whiskey
Jelly
marmalade which placed seventh in
the Marmalade category.
VanderMolen also brought home a
fifth place finish in the Chutney
category in the Amateur Pickling
competition for a peach garam
masala chutney and 10th place in the
Chili Sauce category.
Elaine McDivitt, also of Seaforth,
took third place in the Savory Jam or
Jelly category with a dandelion jelly.
