Classified Advertisements Celebration planned for Roulstons' retirement The Blyth Business Improvement Area (BIA) will be co -hosting a come -and -go celebration for Keith Roulston, former publisher at North Huron Publishing which produces The Citizen, The Rural Voice and Stops Along the Way. The event is set for Nov. 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Hall. Tenders During the BIA's Oct. 18 meeting, Deb Sholdice, BIA secretary and current North Huron Publishing publisher, explained that Roulston wanted any celebration to benefit the community so, in lieu of gifts, donations could be made to the Blyth Idea Group (BIG) Idea Fund. "It would be a really great way of continuing his impact on this community," Sholdice said. "The Blyth Idea Group spurred a lot of what happens in this community." BIA Treasurer Gary van Leeuwen said if there was to be such a fund, there would need to be a description of what the fund would benefit. Sholdice said she envisioned the fund as something the BIA could use annually to enrich an event or make an event happen. The example of the Remembrance Day banners was given, a project that will see local servicemen and women honoured by having banners with their likeness and stories hung on the light standards in the village around Remembrance Day as a good example. The BIA received Sholdice's report. Obituaries MARGARET `JEAN' (NEE BROWN) BRIDGE Margaret Jean Bridge passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at Seaforth Community Hospital. She was in her 82nd year. Jean was the beloved wife of Glenn for 60 years and loving mom to Robert (Laura), Scott (Joan) and son-in-law Rick. She was predeceased by her daughter Karen (2015). Jean was the grandmother of Amy (Ray), Kelly, Jill, Danielle (Kurt), Meagan (Joel), Tony, Kendra (Brad), and Allison (Rhys), great- grandmother of Kaeli and Veda and sister-in-law of Ben, Allan (Marilyn) and Karen Bridge. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews and special friend Jean Davidson. Jean was predeceased by brother and sister-in-law Angus (Phyllis) Brown, sister and brother- in-law Ruth (Lyle) Carter and brother-in-law Harold Bridge. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service on Friday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. at Brussels Cemetery. Hillary MacDonald will officiate. A come -and -go reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Brussels from 2-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Brussels Branch #218, the Canadian Cancer Society or Seaforth Community Hospital would be appreciated. Condolences may be left at riversidefuneralhome. c a MARY "ELAINE" CRAIG Mary "Elaine" Craig of Goderich, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus, London. She was 69. Elaine was the mother of Tyler, Peter (Natalie) and Ben (Tiffany). She was the very loving grandma of Mya, Calleigh, Dawson, Asher and Cooper and dear sister of Pat Sills, Connie (Larry) Mellen, Don (Karen) Scruton and Nancy (Keith) Allen. Elaine will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was the special sister-in-law of Brian and Margaret Craig. Elaine was predeceased by her parents Jack and Margaret (nee Mero) Scruton, niece Colleen, brother-in-law George Sills and her dear in-laws Hazel and Bill Craig. Visitation was held at the Falconer Funeral Homes, Bluewater Chapel on Sunday, Oct. 29. A memorial service was held on Monday, Oct. 30. Pastor Stephen Tamming officiated. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow at a later date.
