Agricultural Society to host Harvest Social Nov. 4
By Denny Scott
The Citizen
The Brussels Agricultural Society
will be hosting its second annual
Harvest Social on Nov. 4 after the
success of the 2016 event helped
fund the Brussels Fall Fair
appearance at the International
Plowing Match and Rural Expo.
Organizer Jenna Fischer explained
the event was well attended and
appreciated last year, so the group
set out to host it again.
"We're not having the fall fair at
the International Plowing Match this
year, but it does still cost money to
put on," she said. "We figured we
might as well do it again."
This year's event will feature a
fashion show including selectios
from Marita's Fashion Boutique
from Clinton followed by Brent and
Sarah's Comedy Magic Show.
"They can often be found on
cruise ships doing their show,"
Fischer said. "I heard a lot of good
things about them"
Appetizers and hors d'oeuvres
will be served throughout the
evening and those in attendance will
have a chance to earn raffle prizes
and door prizes throughout the night.
The social will be held at the
Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre and tickets cost
$30 per person. Fischer said entire
tables can be reserved for groups.
For more information, contact her at
519-357-8342.
Doors open at the event at 6:30
p.m. and the fashion show will begin
an hour later.
Tickets are available in advance
from any Agricultural Society
member or through the event's
Facebook page which can be found
