Peach, Chow bring their Christmas concert to Blyth
Home for the Holidays
Blyth's Kathryn Peach and multi -instrumentalist Scott Chow will bring a Christmas show to
Memorial Hall this December. Peach was inspired by neighbour and friend Annie Sparling,
who performed ahead of the holidays two years ago on the Memorial Hall stage. Peach has
been singing for audiences in and around Blyth since she was in grade school. (Photo submitted)

Blyth's Kathryn Peach, alongside
her newfound musical partner Scott
Chow, will be performing at Blyth
Memorial Hall in December to
warm residents up for Christmas.
Peach and Chow, who have now
performed together a handful of
times, will be assembling a full band
for the "Home for the Holidays"
show, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 17
at 3 p.m.
The idea of a Christmas show has
been churning in Peach's head for
nearly two years since her neighbour
and friend Annie Sparling brought
Christmas music to the Memorial
Hall stage in 2015.
Sparling performed a special
Christmas fundraising concert for
Blyth 14/19 during the holidays of
2015. Hundreds took in the show
and Peach was one of them, saying it
inspired her to strive to do the same.
Peach says that while Sparling's
performance is a lot to live up to, she
wanted to try.
Since then, Peach has been busy
with university and her job at Blyth

even announced, but in recent
months she has been able to focus
her attention on singing once
again.
Peach says she's been singing for
audiences since she was in Grade 5.
It was in her Grade 5 class, she said,
that she first remembers singing in
front of others and thinking it was
something she was good at and that
she wanted to keep doing for as long
as she could.
Since then, Peach has performed
at a number of local and regional
festivals and competitions, such as
the Kiwanis Musical Festival of
London and the Western Fair's
Rise2Fame competition.
However, it was earlier this year
that Peach and Chow connected and
she says that something just
clicked when they first performed
together.
"I think he believes in what I
believe in," Peach said. She wants to
continue to achieve milestones
through her singing and she thinks
Chow is on the same page and wants
to help support her and be there for
her as she reaches her goals.
The two have performed a pop-up
concert at Cowbell and earlier this
month performed at the brewery's
southern bourbon tasting.

Peach says they have another
show lined up in November, but
plans to really pull out all the stops
for the holiday show in Blyth,
teaming up with local artists to
provide a full band experience for
the show.
While Blyth 14/19 isn't directly
involved in Peach's show, as it was
with Sparling's show, Peach says the
local organization is serving as one
of the show's sponsors.
The show begins at 3 p.m. on Dec.
17 and runs for two hours. From 5-7
p.m., Peach, Chow and their fellow
musicians will host a "meet the
artist" session in the lower hall after
the show.
Tickets are available online at
Eventbrite.ca and physical tickets
will soon be available for purchase
at Cowbell, Pianovations, the
Goderich Print Shop and Studio C in

are general admission.
