Blyth United fall
supper set Oct. 21
From Marilyn's Desk
Population boom
Over the weekend, the village of Blyth swelled with five times its regular recorded population
as, on Saturday, more than 6,000 people attended the Festival of Wizardry at the Blyth
Campground. The event encouraged visitors to head to the village's downtown core resulting
in wizards of all kinds flooding the downtown with a sea of wizard house colours, above.
Quidditch, a sport that started in the fictional world of Harry Potter but has since found a real-
world equivalent, was a big part of the event. Below, volunteers help children get familiar with
the game on a smaller `Kidditch' field. (Denny Scott, Quinn Talbot photos)
Unless our study of Scripture .. .
"He who says he abides in Him, ought himself to walk in the same
manner as He walked." 1 John 2:6
(Arthur Pink)
Unless our study of Scripture is conforming us, both inwardly and
outwardly, to the image of Christ - it profits us not!
"Leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps"

She explained to the children that
she had a "hand prayer". The thumb
represented a person close to their
heart, like a mom or dad, because
the thumb is close to your heart. The
second finger, because it is the
pointer finger, is a prayer for
teachers or someone who teaches us.
The third finger is the tallest finger
and it is for heads of government
someone like our Prime Minister or
leaders. The fourth finger is the ring
finger and it is also the weakest
finger, so we say a prayer for the
sick and people who are weak and
the fifth finger, or baby finger, is a
