Entertainment & Leisure Ethridge, Canyon to perform main stage shows at IPM Kings, St. Onge Family, Audibly Awesome, South Huron Community Choir, Huron Harp School, Blyth Festival Singers and Minstrel Road. A special performance by Luca "Lazylegz" Patuelli will take place on the Mutuals Stage on Friday, Sept. 22. While Tented City closes down at 5:30 p.m., the RV Park Entertainment Stage comes alive. Entertainment starts Sunday, Sept. 17 with MacAdam Road at 7 p.m. If you are staying in the RV Park, your admission is free or you can purchase a ticket the night of for $10. Monday night entertainment is provided by County Versatiles followed by John Heaman on Tuesday. Campfire Country Band performs Wednesday night with a full performance from Barn Dance Live on Thursday night. Friday night is the last night in the RV Park featuring Dianne and Cavaliers. Remember, your gate admission into IPM 2017 is all-inclusive of the musical shows! IPM 2017 takes place Sept. 19 — 23 with advance tickets being sold at every municipal office in Huron County for $15. Woluschuk coming to gallery Big time talent Eric Ethridge, above, and George Canyon are just a few of the big names that will grace the various stages at this year's International Plowing Match. Many of those performing will be local in an effort to show off all the talent in Huron County. (Photo submitted) Six stages and hundreds of performers over five days will bring the 2017 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo to life! The 2017 IPM is pleased to announce its musical and entertainment line-up. On the Huron County Mutuals Main Stage, the committee is thrilled to announce the IPM's headliner: Canadian multi -platinum and multi - Juno award winner, country music star George Canyon, who will be performing two shows on Friday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 23. Eric Ethridge, local rising Canadian Country star, will be opening for George Canyon on Friday. Eric's debut single, "Liquor's Callin' the Shots" released to Canadian country radio this spring and it has already hit the top 30 Canadian country charts! The Huron County Mutuals Main Stage will also feature the Larry Mercy Trio and Canadian and U.S. national fiddle champion Shane Cook, on day one of the match, Tuesday, Sept. 19. Johnny Cash and Honky Tonk Angels, featuring Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame artist, Marie Bottrel, headlines Wednesday, Sept. 20, along with local favourites The Irish Cowboys. The Next Generation Leahy perform two sets on Thursday, Sept. 21 followed by Huron County's own music and dance family: The Ballaghs. On Saturday, Sept. 23 the event will celebrate Canada 150 with Eagle Flight First Nation dancers and singers, the Metis Fiddle Quartet and the Swiss Yodeling Choir leading up to the George Canyon finale and the closing ceremonies. The Lounge Tent Stage hosts an impressive line-up of country and rock bands all week long. Relax and enjoy a cool beverage while listing to country music singer -songwriter Jamie Warren, or get re -energized with celtic rockers Mudmen and a trio of Huron County bands: Highway 21, River Junction Band and Sal's Alley. Main stage artists: Shane Cook, Sean Hogan and Eric Ethridge will also all play encore sets in the Lounge during their time at the IPM as well. The Mutuals and Brussels Fair Stages feature a wide variety of talent from Huron County. It opens Friday, Aug. 4. (Photo submitted) Why would an electrician with over a decade of experience working in the oil sands' industrial plants move to Seaforth? Darren Woluschuk was surrounded by massive stainless -clad structures — some of 100-200 feet high, with hundreds of pipes that run for miles in every direction — and found them somehow visually aesthetic. "I couldn't help but start documenting the images through drawings, sketches and painting studies. I had the privilege of seeing the sunrise and the sunset from hundreds of feet in the air at times. It really is captivating and one could not leave this place without somehow being moved," he said. He will be exhibiting oil paintings drawn from his daydreams and abstract thoughts. He hopes to show the viewer how the images with which we surround ourselves inevitably spill out into our daily lives. "Reflections from the Sands", the exhibition by Darren Woluschuk, is presented by the Blyth Festival Art Gallery and sponsored by Maarten Bokhout and Helena McShane, and curated by Greg Sherwood and Scott Ramsay.
