An annual tradition
The Blyth Festival hosted its annual book and pie sale at the beginning of the month. The
event, one of the most memorable on the calendar for community members, happened to
coincide with the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story, which was the first real test for
Memorial Hall since re -opening after $4.2 million in renovations. Lynda McGregor was one of
the proud chefs behind some of the best pies in Huron County. (Denny Scott photo)
Sheep
Club
meets
By Austin Bieman
The third meeting of the Lucknow
Sheep Club was held at Lewis
Farms. Everyone met at the Todd
Family Farm where they all loaded
the bus to head to Lewis Farms.
When the club arrived they toured
the solar farm. They drove around
and were told that the sheep are
fenced right under the solar panels.
The club then proceeded to the
dairy barn and saw a cow being
milked by a robot. Next, the club
was shown all the cameras located
around the barn and told that they
use the cameras to tell which cows
have been milked each day.
Continuing on, the Lewis family
then led the club to the sheep barn
and told the club about how many
barns they have and how many
sheep they are currently feeding.
Before the club left, they enjoyed
snacks provided by the Todds.
The next meeting will be held on
July 20 at the Todd family farm.
