The awards will be handed out on Monday, June 26 at the Elgin Theatre. The list of nominees with local connections begins with Severn Thompson, who spent some of her youth in Blyth as her parents Paul Thompson and Anne Anglin worked at the Blyth Festival. Thompson is an alumnis of the Young Company program and first acted and directed professionally at the Blyth Festival. Peter Pan, which Thompson directed, has been nominated for Outstanding Production in the Theatre for Young Audiences division. The show was produced through the Bad Hats Theatre Company. Thompson is also nominated for Outstanding Direction, while the play's cast is nominated for Outstanding Ensemble Performance.
