Garratt said.
Before becoming historical

looks changed a bit by local make-

Bolger, a Blyth native now living

Blyth residents Gil Garratt, standing, and Elli Cohen, in make-up, are members of the
Memorable Men of Huron calendar, an initiative spearheaded by Marcie Riegling of Miss
Marcie Media. Riegling, who has connections to the Blyth Festival, fingered Garratt, the Blyth
Festival Artistic Director, and Cohen, a member of the Blyth Centre for the Arts Board of
Director, to adopt the guise of James Roy and Jim Schaefer, early influences on the Blyth
Festival, in the recreation of a historical photo. The calendar will raise funds for the Alzheimer
Society of Huron County and will be available in September. Blyth -native make-up artist Erin

After the success of the Inspiring
Women of Huron County pin-up
calendar, Marcie Riegling is turning
to the men of the county to support
the Alzheimer Society of Huron
County.
Riegling, through her company
Miss Marcie Media, put together the
original pin-up calendar as a
fundraiser for the Huron Women's
Shelter. It focused women from
across the county in clothing, make-
up and poses that fit the pin-up
theme.
The new calendar, called the
Memorable Men of Huron, features
men from throughout the county
posing in historical photos from the
past.
Two such men are Elli Cohen and
Gil Garratt, both of Blyth.
Cohen, the chair of the Blyth
Centre for the Arts Board of
Directors, said Garratt suggested
Riegling contact him to take part in a
photo with him.
The shot is a remake of a famous
photo of some of the earliest
influences for the Blyth Festival:
James Roy and Jim Schaefer.
Cohen said he was excited to be
involved and said he has family and
friends that have been affected by
Alzheimer's disease and that his law
partner, Quinn Ross, was past -
president of the Alzheimer Society
of Huron County and a fellow Blyth
Centre for the Arts Board
Member.
Garratt said he is excited to
be involved in the project not
only because of the important
fundraising being done through the
calendar, but because it gives a
chance to shines a spotlight on an
important member of the Blyth
Festival's history.
"This photo, with James and
Jim, is a critical part of the origin of
the Festival," he said. "We hear
about James and Keith Roulston
when we talk about the origin
of the Festival, but Jim is
