PAGE 23. `Letterkenny' IPM event coming to Wingham The 2017 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM) committee is bringing actors from the CraveTV show Letterkenny to the North Huron Wescast Community Complex in Wingham as a fundraiser for the IPM. Nathan Dales plays Daryl in the series, one of the protagonists, and Dylan Playfair, who plays antagonist Reilly, will be taking to the stage on June 10, 100 days away from the starting of the 100th IPM. The event starts at 8 p.m. and will also feature a DJ until 1 a.m. North Huron Township Council recognized the event as a municipally -significant one during its April 18 meeting, allowing it to pursue a liquour license. The event is being rolled into the Musical Muskrat Festival according to North Huron Director of Recreation and Facilities Pat Newson. "The event is on the same weekend as the festival, so we're working with both teams, the IPM and Muskrat Festival committee, to co-operate," she said. "They are going to co -promote each other. The Muskrat Festival is scaling down activities on Saturday night to promote attendance to this event. Staff are working with both organizers to compliment each other." Reeve Neil Vincent says the IPM committee organized this event as a partner event to one being held in the south end of the county at the South Huron Rec Centre. Dubbed "The Mother of All IPM Events", the event takes place May 14 starting at 5 p.m. Letterkenny started as a video series on YouTube three years ago before it was picked up by Bell's CraveTV, a streaming television service. The show is based in a partially -fictionalized version of the rural Ontario town of Letterkenny. While Letterkenny is an actual location west of Ottawa, it shares its name only with the titular location in the series. Star and creator Jared Keeso says much of the humour is derived from his life in Listowel. Only 950 tickets are available for the event. Tickets purchased in advance will cost $20 plus HST and at the door it will cost $25 plus HST. Tickets are available, locally, at Ernie King Music in Wingham, McGavin's Farm Equipment in Walton and MGM Townsend Tire Inc. in Londesborough. Brian Hymers welcomed the congregation on Easter 2 and Gord Folkard thanked everyone who helped in anyway at the ham and scalloped potato supper. The call to worship was read responsively and was followed by the choir anthem. "We Are Marching" was the children's hymn. The congregation listened to the word of God as the Hopper family read scripture. Roger read from Peter 1: 1-12, Debbie read responsively with the congregation from Psalm 16 and Caleigh read from Acts 2: 22-28. Brian reflected on the second Sunday of Easter. He talked of Jesus' resurrection. After the singing of the hymn of response, "Hallelujah", Nancy Jardin reported on the Minute for Missions entitled "Five Oaks Farewell". Doug Walker and Gord Folkard took up the offering which was dedicated. The closing hymn "Breathe on Me Breath of God", the benediction and blessing, "Go Now in Peace" concluded the morning worship service. On Tuesday, May 2 the Knox United Church Women are inviting the men to join them at their May meeting at 7:30 p.m. The topic is Newfoundland and Labrador.
