From the Minister's Study Good Fridays lead to Easter Sundays in life: Clark As I look back over the years of being in Huron County I realize that I came here from one of those Good Fridays. The leaving of Winnipeg, family, friends, and familiarity behind was hard. Yes, as is my tendency I looked at the bright side and all the possibilities ahead in Blyth, but sadness came along for the ride. At the end of the month, he will be leaving to take over a church in Kitchener after nearly 10 years in Blyth and, later, Brussels. This is his final submission for From The Minister's Study, to which he has contributed his entire time in Huron County. He is pictured above beside Grace Hallahan, who portrayed Jesus in Blyth United Church's annual Easter Sunday play. (Vicky Bremner photo) By Rev. Gary Clark Blyth and Brussels United Churches I am writing this, my final submission to The Citizen on Easter Saturday. It's a strange day sandwiched between Good Friday and Easter. On the street, it is business as usual with no special services or notices that proclaim Easter is coming. I guess that is life. We all have our Good Friday experiences. The painful endings of life or the loss of a job or a relationship that cuts us to our very core. We remember every moment and every technicolour image of those hard times. Our hearts and souls are tattooed with the grief and our lives seem frozen. Then, there is the waiting for the thaw which takes the form of simply taking one step after another away from the painful event. The memories come with us of course, but every day brings us a distance, in time, from the actual event. Then one day, unexpectedly joy and even laughter returns to our soul. Easter in its most humble, and most profoundly personal expression arrives at our door. We usually do nothing to deserve it, save staying alive long enough to be surprised by it. £iLlil Netter Chrithaal, ell¢aciiitl Sunday, April 23" 3 ONTARIO WOMEN'S MINISTRY TEAM Come and hear a dynamic presentation by Teen Challenge, featuring students sharing their amazing stories of freedom from addiction! 10:30 a.m. -- Worship & Sunday School at 308 Blyth Rd.
