They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way I feel.
For no one knows the heartache,
That hides behind our smiles,
We want to tell you something,
So there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of,
But so hard to be without.

StopGap
By Denny Scott
The Citizen
North Huron Township Council
officially adopted a policy to allow
Blyth -area educator Julie Sawchuk's
StopGap program to go forward in
the municipality.
Sawchuk, who was paralyzed
from the chest down in an
automobile -and -bicycle collision
last year, presented the program to
North Huron Council earlier this
year. The program will see
miniature, mobile ramps built for
businesses to make them accessible
throughout North Huron.
The policy allows businesses to
utilize the ramps provided an
application is completed to
participate in the program. To apply,
business owners need to sign a
waiver of liability for the township
and provide a certificate of insurance
with commercial general liability
coverage of no less than $2 million
with other provisions.
Once the requirements have been
met, StopGap Huron will notify the
township in writing of any business
that joins.
For more information about the
municipality's involvement in the
project, contact North Huron
Director of Public Works Jeff
Molenhuis or Chief Administrative
Officer Sharon Chambers.
For information on the program,
contact StopGap Huron at
stopgaphuron@gmail.com.
