Sports Curling Club finishes season The Brussels Curling Club finished its season of regular play on March 6. The top team for the draw was team Steve Knight winning all five of their games. Team members included Ken Penfound and Cody Sanders. They earned 51 points for top spot. The second place team was team Murray Hoover, Martin Thomet, Debbie Coultes and Tyler Cullen with 48 points. Third place was team George Zwep, Michael Bernard, Karen Uhler and Tyler Jutzi with 40 points. Fourth place was team Mike Alexander, MaryAnn Thompson, Bob Alexander and Janelle Caldwell with 39.5 points. The fifth place went to team Jo- Ann McDonald, Reg Vinnicombe, Doug Bremner and Diana Dolmage with 39 points. The sixth place team was Matthew Cardiff, Don Chesher and Dona Knight with 37.5 points and seventh went to Steve Steiss, Jenni Schimanski, Norm Dobson and Halee McCann with 34 points. The eighth place team was Mervyn Bauer, Brian Warwick and Danica Zwep with 14 points and ninth was Gary Pipe, Katherine Thomet and Brent Alexander with 11 points. The 10th place team was Carman Bernard, Jeff Cardiff, Sandra Cable and Sarah Alexander with 10 points. The group enjoyed a social time following the game with lots of delicious snacks to enjoy. A short business meeting followed with President Jeff Cardiff thanking all who helped make it a very successful season: the ice committee, draw committee, financial committee, bar committee and the bonspiel committee.
