(Photo submitted) The third meeting of the Wawanosh Curling Club took place on Feb. 20 at the Wingham Golf and Curling Club. First, the club opened with the pledge. After that, members did roll call which was "What is the hack used for in curling?" Next, Gayle Mclhargey gave the meeting minutes. Then the club played a curling vocabulary game, where half the club got a piece of paper with a curling definition on it and the other half got a word that matched the definition sentence. Following that, the club looked at a page in their books. The page taught them how the scoreboard works and allowed them to answer questions about the score board. After, they went down to the ice. First, members did curling stretches and then they divided into groups of more experienced players and less experienced players. The less - experienced players did some exercises and the more experienced players learned about throwing the stone. After, the members played a mini curling game. Finally, they went back upstairs and closed the meeting with the 4-H motto and snacks. The delicious snacks were provided by Abby Robinson. The club's second meeting on Feb. 14 was also held at the Wingham Golf and Curling Club. To start things off, the club opened with the pledge. Next, members did roll call. Roll call was "why did you join the club?" Loretta Higgins then gave the meeting minutes. Then, members thought of a fun club name, deciding on the Wawanosh Rolling Stones. Following that, the club worked on a page in their books. Next, participants went down to the ice. Members of the club divided into groups based on experience. The first group started playing a game, as they had had some previous experience and the second group learned how to get into the crunch and throw the stone, as they did not have any experience prior to this meeting. Members then played a one -end game. Once that was done, they went upstairs and closed the meeting with the 4-H motto and snacks, provided by Grace Hallahan.
