(Courtesy photo) By Denny Scott The Citizen Seth Nichol of Brussels is taking his love of engines and cars and getting creative with GasPains TV, a show focused on putting engines on all kinds of vehicles. Nichol spoke to The Citizen on Monday when he and fellow GasPains co -hosts Christopher "MG" Cooper and Joe "FAF" Beaudette wrapped up shooting for the first episode of the show, expected to premiere in April, 2019. "Basically, the whole idea is we're going to try and put engines on everything and anything," he said. "Our first project is a little, tiny 1970s girl's bike. It's a rickety thing. We're putting an 80cc engine on it and see how fast she can go." Nichol said he connected with Cooper through his own endeavour to get into film and television, which he studied at Sheridan College, and the two were looking to collaborate on a project. The two had several meetings before Cooper brought up GasPains TV, a project he had put on the back burner. "All of our eyes lit up," Nichol said. "That's how it all started." He said he, Beaudette and Cooper hope to foster a community through the show, looking to host GasPains nights that encourage those interested to show off classic cars, motorcycles or unique vehicles. Cars and engines have been a long-time passion for Nichol who said he's had a keen interest in the subject matter for as long as he can remember. He owns a 1965 Ford Mustang that he works on and said that, through repairing and maintaining the vehicle, he has learned to manage it and it has fueled his love of engines. "It's a wonderful car, but it takes a lot of work and it's something you learn to love," he said. GasPains TV is aiming to be live in April and will be carried on its website at gaspaintstv.com. Nichol said the show will be "shopped around" to television providers with a pilot before that. He said the trio hopes to hit a wider audience by finding a television partner through that process. "We can only guarantee it will be on our website," he said. "The rest are variables." For more information, visit GasPains TV's website above or find the program on social media.
