Jared Petteplace and incumbent Deputy - Mayor Dave Jewitt will challenge one another for the municipality's second -in -command position. East Ward Councillors Dan Colquhoun, Alex Westerhout and Marg Anderson have also filed nomination papers to serve as an East Ward councillor for another term. They will be challenged for their positions by newcomer Jeff Scholl. Dennis Valenta had put his name forward for an East Ward position, but then withdrew before the deadline. In the West Ward, incumbent Councillors Alison Lobb and Adam Robinson have both filed papers for another term. Newcomers Mike Belford of Clinton and Michael Russo of RR2, Goderich have both put their names forward for West Ward positions. In Goderich incumbent Mayor Kevin Morrison has filed once again alongside former Deputy -Mayor John Grace and former councillor David Yates. Former Goderich Mayor Deb Shewfelt has put his name forward to become the town's deputy -mayor, running against current Councillors Michele Hansen and Myles Murdock. Current Deputy -Mayor Jim Donnelly will run again, but this time for a councillor position. Incumbent Councillors Trevor Bazinet and Matt Hoy have also filed to retain their positions. Newcomer Phil Neill has also put his name forward to be a councillor. Current Councillor Glen McNeil has been acclaimed as reeve for Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh and incumbent Deputy -Reeve Roger Watt has also been acclaimed to his current position. Murray Curran, Anita Snobelen and Gloria Fisher have filed for the two at -large councillor positions. Incumbent Jennifer Miltenburg has been acclaimed as the Ashfield Ward councillor and incumbent Bill Vanstone and Peter McKee are running for the Colborne Ward councillor seat, while incumbents Paul Bollinger and Wayne Forster are both running for one Wawanosh Ward councillor position. Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Council has changed its structure ahead of this fall's election to one reeve, one deputy -reeve, one representative from each of the three wards and two at -large councillors. In Howick, three are in the race for reeve as incumbent Art Versteeg has stepped aside. Robert Clarkson, Doug Harding and Rosemary Rognvaldson are all running for Howick's top position. Eldon Bowman, Randy Scott and Mike Starenky have all filed in hopes of becoming the deputy -reeve. Megan Gibson, Marvin Grimes, Doug Hargrove, Linda Henhoeffer, Bob Illman, Paul H. Martin and Marg Sanburn have all filed for Howick's four councillor positions. In Bluewater, incumbent Tyler Hessel will have competition in the form of former Huron -Bruce MPP Paul Klopp. Former Mayor Bill Dowson and incumbent Jim Fergus -son are running for deputy - mayor. Running in Hay West are John Gillespie and Alwyn Vanden Berg, while John Becker has been acclaimed in Hay East. George Irvin and Taylor Van Aaken are running in Stanley West, while Peter Walden and Bob Montgomery are running in Stanley East. Shawn LaPorte has been acclaimed in Zurich after Janisse Zimmerman withdrew her nomination and Bill Whetstone has been acclaimed in Bayfield. Mamie Hill and Scott Harris are running for Hensall positions. Incumbent Maureen Cole is seeking another term and she will challenged by George Finch, Dave Frayne and Tom Oke. Jim Dietrich and Craig Herbert are both running for deputy -mayor. Greg Elliot, Dianne Faubert, Darlene McKaig and Marissa Vaughan will all challenge for Ward l's two positions, while Toby Clipperton, Wayne DeLuca, Aaron Neeb and Barb Ferguson Willard will challenge for two positions in Ward 2. In Ward 3, Ted Oke and Paul Passmore will challenge for the ward's one councillor position. On the school board front, Colleen Schenk has been acclaimed as the North Huron area's Avon Maitland District School Board trustee, while Robert Hunking has been acclaimed as the Central East Huron trustee for the school board. Al Sygrove and Colin Ralph Carmichael have both filed to be the next Avon Maitland District School Board representative for the Goderich region, while Jim McDade has put his name forward to be the Goderich-area representative on the Huron -Perth Catholic District School Board. Amy Cronin of Bluevale has let her name stand for the Huron -Perth trustee position for the Huron -Perth Roman Catholic Separate School Board.
