Here, member Kayla Drennan shows off her work in progress. (Photo submitted) By Loretta Higgins The fourth meeting of the Wawanosh 4-H Club Sewanosh project was held on Saturday, July 14 at the Auburn Hall. Once all members had arrived, President Abby opened the meeting with the pledge and then roll call which was "show your pattern and fabric and give names of fibre content and care instructions." The club then went around and showed their projects, informing the club on the fiber of their fabric. Leader Cathy then showed Kayla's project to the members and explained interfacing and how to overcome a sizing problem. Cathy then explained some information about seams to the club, using Kayla's project as an example. After all the business, the club got to work. Cassandra and Loretta went with Marilyn to finish their pajamas, Kayla and Melina went with Cathy to work on their pajamas, and then Amanda and Abby went with Mary Ellen to sew various types of seams including French, flat seam and pinked seams. Members then took a well- deserved break and after that opened the fifth meeting with the pledge and roll call, which was a fill -in -the - blanks exercise about seams. Cassandra also handed the creative title page she made to the club. Next, achievement was brought up. Amanda suggested that the club visit the "Sew on Fire" group from Blyth to view the various items they sew and send to various charities and the club agreed that would be a great idea. With that decided, the club returned to work finishing either their pajamas or their seams. When everyone finished their projects, Abby closed the meeting with the motto and members cleaned up.
