Card of thanks
VODDEN. On behalf of the Vodden
and Moffitt families I would like to
express our heartfelt thanks to all our
friends and neighbours who have
helped us through this very difficult
time with the sudden loss of Janis.
Our family members who were able
to come to Blyth have been amazed
by the outpouring of sympathy and
support for all of us. It would be
impossible to acknowledge
adequately all the kindnesses which
have been extended to us including
accommodation, food, flowers,
cards and messages, community
donations, as well as expressions of
sympathy. Our thanks go to the
Blyth United Church for the
accommodations for the memorial
service and for the delicious lunch
provided by the members. I also
want to thank Rev. Paula Taylor
Morgan for the conduct of the
memorial service, in every way
honouring our wishes as well as
Piper Don Martin, who fulfilled one
of Janis's oft -stated wishes for pipes
to mark her departure. Our family
members who come from far and
wide across the province and across
the world marvelled at the friendly
atmosphere of this village. While
none of this graciousness would
have been of a surprise to Janis, the
past few days justify her belief and
dedication to holding Blyth up as an
example to the world of a
community built on the best of
human values. – Brock Vodden.
