(J.C. Ryle, "The Gospel of Luke" 1858)
"But I have prayed for you Simon, that your faith may not fall." Luke 22:32
We see in this verse --one great secret of a believer's perseverance in the faith. It was
owing to Christ's intercession --that Peter did not entirely fall away.
The continued existence of grace in a believer's heart, is a great standing miracle.
His enemies are so mighty --and his strength is so small; the world is so full of
snares --and his heart is so weak; that it seems at first sight impossible for him to
reach Heaven.
The passage before us explains his safety. He has a mighty Friend at the right hand
of God, who ever lives to make intercession for him. There is a watchful Advocate,
who is daily pleading for him --seeing all his daily necessities, and obtaining daily
supplies of mercy and grace for his soul. His grace never altogether dies --because
Christ always lives to intercede for him! (Hebrews 7:25)
If we are true Christians, we shall find it essential to our comfort in religion --to have
clear views of Christ's priestly office and intercession. Christ lives --and therefore
our faith shall not fail. Let us beware of regarding Jesus only as one who died for
us. Let us never forget that He is alive for evermore. Paul bids us to especially
remember that He is risen again, and is at the right hand of God, and also makes
intercession for us. Romans 8:34
The work that He does for His people, is not yet over. He is still appearing in the
presence of God for them, and doing for their souls, what He did for Peter. His
present life for them --is just as important as His death on the cross eighteen hundred
years ago! Christ lives --and therefore true Christians "shall live also."

North Huron Council.

Festival to attempt
new world record
A magical day
The second Transfigured Town Festival of Wizardry to be
held in Blyth will include an attempt to break a world record
by hosting the globe's largest scavenger hunt. The current
record is 2,732 and was set last September. Transfigured
Town organizers hope to top that number by nearly 1,300
and have 4,000 hunters involved. Last year's scavenger
hunt saw participants flock to Blyth's downtown to find
hidden clues in local shops. (File photo)
Transfigured Town had applied in
early March to challenge the record
for the world's largest scavenger
hunt. On May 29, Festival of
Wizardry received word from
Guinness Book of World Records
that their application to attempt a
world record was accepted.
The current record is 2,732
people, and is held by Escape Manor
Inc. The record was set on Sept. 10,
2017 as part of the Canada
150 celebrations held in Ottawa in
2017.
Festival organizers are hoping to
organize the record-breaking
attempt with at least 4,000
participants on Saturday, Sept. 22.
With 6,500 attendees expected on
Saturday, organizers are confident
that they will have the numbers
necessary to break the world record
and hold it for some time. Not only
will it be a great time for all the
participants but it will be an
opportunity to make a bit of history
as record -holders.
If you want to have a magically
good time breaking a world record
then you should get your tickets for
the Festival of Wizardry which is
being held in Blyth from Sept. 21-
23. Tickets can be purchased online
at Transfiguredtown.com or call

explained that, with the new road
construction requirements introduced
by North Huron last month, the
proposed development would result
in servicing the lots at a loss.
Council approved several requests
including reducing street width from
8.5 metres to eight metres, only
implementing sub -drains in areas
with certain grades, removing
private drain connections and
custom rules for lot grading.
GJAJ Holdings decided to remove
a request to not have sidewalks in the
development.
However, at staff's direction,
council chose to deny one of the
relief requests. Concrete curb and
gutter requirements will be
maintained as Director of Public
Works Sean McGhee feels they are
an essential component of the road.
McGhee, in his report, indicated
these suggestions came after
consultation with an engineering
firm.
Council approved McGhee's
report and recommendations.
