Class of '18, there are a lot of us,
which my dad says is because of the
blackout in 2003, but we've all came
together this past year in our
respective classes, learning that
"two pi R squared" is how you find
the area of a circle and that
Mitchell's laugh is usually 10 times
funnier than the joke itself.
We've all fallen and picked each
other back up and I don't mean
metaphorically. Elianna Kruger
literally fell over her own feet at the
end of the 100 -metre race and her
amazing friends actually had to pick
her back up.
Thank you to the best class I could
ask for. The history presentations
will never be more hilarious, and I
will never meet any other girls that
will snort as loud as Marley and
Catherine.
As my speech is coming to an end,
awarded
Leadership Award from the Ontario
Principals' Council, as well as the
Howson and Howson Design and
Technology Award.
Evie Reid was the female winner
of the Outstanding Athlete Award
and also took home the Performing
Arts Award. Braden Radford was the
male winner of the Outstanding
Athlete Award.
Allison Toll won the Heart of Gold
Award, while Shayna flunking won
the Mathematics Award.
Chandler Bromley won the
Overall Academic Improvement
Award and Heidi Badley won the
Computer Technology Award, while
Hailey Govier won the History
Award.
Sadie Squires was the winner of
the Student Council Award and
Hannah Boven won this year's
Effort and Co-operation Award.
high school
as is our public school life, they ask
us again "what do you want to be
when you get older?" the only
difference is our answer can't be " I
want to be a unicorn" anymore. A lot
of us don't know what we want to be
and that's OK, because if there's one
thing we all know, it's that after
tonight we have two months of sun
rays and memories to tell our future
kids all about.
Thank you to all the teachers who
have been so encouraging and
supportive and to our friends and
family — without all of you, we
would not be here today.
And here's a reminder to all to
always believe in yourself because
as Bette Reese once said "If you
think you are too small to be
effective, you have never been in
bed with a mosquito."
Thank you everyone for coming
out. Enjoy the rest of your
evening.

Two long months
The day after over 35 Hullett Central Public School Grade 8 students said goodbye to their
beloved public school in favour of high school next fall, it was officially the last day of school
and students were thrilled with the possibilities that lay ahead. Here, Bryce Dale led the charge
for the buses when the final bell rang on June 28. (shaven Loughlin photo)
