My name is Maeve Adams. Caitlin: And I'm Caitlin McKercher and we are proud and honoured to be chosen as your class of 2018 Valedictorians. Maeve: Today, the graduates of Seaforth Public School were getting all dressed up and prepared for this particular event. Caitlin: What is the big event you may ask? Well, the answer is simple: tonight's celebration of... Maeve: 10 years Caitlin: 100 months Maeve: 1,850 days Caitlin: 11,100 hours Maeve: 666,000 minutes Caitlin: All leading up to this very moment. Maeve: Now if you look over to the following graduates I'm sure you'll see a smile on everyone's face, now that we are all starting a new chapter of our lives. Caitlin: Everyone graduating has a unique and wonderful personality and we would like you to get to know them better by telling you a bit about them. Maeve: Ladies and gentlemen, the graduates of 2018! Caitlin: Ryan Campbell... Maeve: A friendly face who can always make anyone laugh. Brooke Meidinger... Caitlin: If you could describe her sense of humour, it would be very... punny. She has a pun for everything. Both: And we mean everything. Maeve: If there's one thing our class can't do, it's dance. But this next student can surely pull it off. Brody Hughes: the ONLY one who can dance. Caitlin: And he's pretty darn good too! Now with this student we're kicking it way back to good of Grade 6. Maeve: Ya, the lucky one who got her braces on in Grade 6 and had them off before graduation: Rachel Gras. Caitlin: The nice one with a little bit of sass. Maeve: Brayden Chambers... Caitlin: A very kind young man who wants to be an army cadet when he's older. Maeve: I see it. Caitlin: Ya that makes sense. Emma Robinson... Maeve: A very kind, generous girl. And if you ask any of her close friends, they all know she has a hilarious cackle like her mother. Caitlin: So, scientists think that dinosaurs are extinct but little do they know how wrong they are. Maeve: How do we know that you may ask? Caitlin: The next student is one. Ethan Harloff makes noises that either make you laugh or think there is a fire alarm going off. Our next graduate is Emily Brooks. Maeve: Such a sweet, kind girl who always has a positive attitude. Malcolm Smith... Caitlin: The giant of the class and the basketball court. If you are ever playing basketball and you get first pick, take my word and choose Malcolm. Maeve: Next is the always -caring, creative Olivia Gowan. Caitlin: Luke Fritz... Maeve: Ask any girl in the class and they will tell you that he is a ladies' man, or at least that's how he likes to deal with stress, he is also known for his athletic abilities. Emily Moir... Caitlin: She can always make you laugh and always has a smile. Maeve: Tyler MacGillivary... the one who always makes funny noises and faces, that makes everyone laugh. Hannah Perry... Caitlin: She can always cheer you up when you are down and put a smile on your face. Kalen Leonhardt... Maeve: Always a sportsman and can shoot three -pointers like it's nothing. Cailey Roden... Maeve: He is always a gentleman whenever and wherever and always seems to be in Mexico. Isabel McIlroy... Caitlin: Isabel also known as Izzy is super creative and great at art. Hunter Riley... Maeve: The other class clown, who makes everyone laugh even when they aren't supposed to be. Caleb Laurin... Caitlin: Super smart and a very good sprinter. Gavin Ricard... Maeve: Gavin is known for his strange, yet really good shot in basketball. Emmett Shetler... Caitlin: Classic Emmett always a gentleman to everyone. Maeve: Peter Braun is a helpful guy who loves Honda dirt bikes. Christian Mair Lavigne... Caitlin: A very funny, caring, small guy who looks up to many people... literally. Maeve: Caitlin McKercher... A very caring, and very intelligent girl. Caitlin: And now it's time for Maeve Adams. An amazing girl who has a magnetic personality. She is also my fellow Valedictorian. Maeve: We have many memories, friends and much more from these 10 years in Seaforth Public School. Caitlin: Some of us have been here since Kindergarten and some came later. But we all have come together on this very day. Maeve: And with every year we become a little more independent. I bet everyone can remember their first day at this school. Caitlin: It might have been a little exciting and a bit intimidating, but I bet when you look at the younger kids in the school, you think, "wow, I can't believe they look so little and I definitely can't believe I was ever that young." Maeve: But when you see younger students, you can tell how much you've grown up, how much you've learned and how much you've matured. Think back on some of the exciting things that happened this year, all the things you learned. Caitlin: We had some great times this year, and maybe there were some tough times, but we did it and we succeeded. We are ready for that next step. Maeve: Now we would like to make a special thanks to the people who were in our public school careers. To all the teachers, we thank you for teaching us all that we know now. Caitlin: To all the custodians that pick up after us and keep the school shiny and clean. Maeve: To all the principals and vice -principals we have had for putting up with us for a whole decade. Caitlin: To all the librarians for keeping us reading. Maeve: And to our amazing secretary, Mrs. Jewitt. Lastly we thank our parents for raising us to become the amazing young people we are. Caitlin: We would like to thank everybody for all they do for us Maeve: We will leave you with a quote from Dr. Seuss as we end our speech. Caitlin: "You have a brain in your head... Maeve: And feet in your shoes... Caitlin: So you can steer yourself in any direction you choose... Maeve: You are on your own... Caitlin: And you know what you know... Maeve: And you are the person who decides where you go." Both: Thank you!
