Leaving Toronto at 3 p.m. Saturday,
poising chrough Ontario towns, the

passed Fort William, Rat Portage, the
r3mantie mining district of. Rainy
Giver, the party arrived in Winniieg
Monday forenoon, a run .of about
forty hours. The youthful Mayor
Andrews (formerly a boy from Bruce)
received the agents without ceremony,
and with a breecy western hospitality
escorted theta in special cars to al!
places of interest, made special
arrangements with the po:ice, sad
saw them safely started for home.
Alderman Thos. Mashers one of
your own boys, License Commissioner,
President of Winnipeg Liberal Associ-
ation, rid Prospective Mayor, intro-
duced the notables of the city. In his
opinion Winnipeg has no dn advan-
. Cages and unlimited possibi!ties for its
future, while Mr. A. Calder, Immigra-

is the Land of Promise. • The western

banquet ever, the ticket pnnchers left
after two days sojourn, via Northern
Pacific, and were entertained to it
supper at Brand Forks, a thriving
young city of the west. The mayor
being a Can•diaz, the songs, toasts
and sentiments were of a distinctively
Britisu flavor. At Minneapolis next
morning the company were taken in

day the 13th Minnesota regiment just
returned from the Phillipines, were
paraded before President McKinlay,
seats being provided for the visiting
ticket agents and the r rens. We took
the liberty of inviting President Mac.
to your next Caledonian gathering of
tehich he had heard so much,
Leaving St. Paula the party became
the guest of the C. M. & St. P. Rail-
way and were . accompanied by the
General Passenger Agent to Chicago,
thence via G.T.R. to Port Huron, and
by that Company returned to their
homes, where it is presumed they are
now deeply engaged in convincing a
confiding public to secure round trip
tickets to Winnipeg and purchase real
estate as the beet gold mine in
Canada. By courtesy of the various
western linea, the sleepers leaving
Winnipeg were run to Port Huron
without change. Perhaps the greatest
advancement of this generrtion is in
our modern railroad travel, which has
ao annihilated distances that you ruay
step aboard, enjoy all the comforts of

Companies have raised the price of all sizes and kinds of
Stoves. As a consequence the Local Dealers are unable to
replenish their stocks further than they were fortunate
enough to have booked. It is therefore obvious those wha
buy early will purchase from stock bought at a low price,
and will do better than those who buy from stock received
at the new price.
Now for a large and well arranged selection of Cook
