There was about as touch businem as usual w dispose of, but although the Council melt a day later in the week than is their custom, they managed to get through on time. One of the duties of this session was the laying of the Corner Stone, to which reference is made elsewhere in this issue, and which wad a little out of the routine of business. In the matter of grants, the Council proceeded with a good deal of caution. Apart from small grants which were made for the repairing of bridged, the easy grants made were as follows : (1) ♦ grant of t:100 to mist the rutlnicipaality of 13rant in building a bridge over the Ssugeeu river at Maple Hill.
