Ilorribb Suicide in Puslinch. Front tee Guelph Advertiser. On Friday aternoon last, the 12th inst., as 2 boys- were laming brush in the vicinity of Brock Road, amen named James Black, ap- proached them, and in a few. moments they were horror -stack at perceiving him lie dowe on the burnieg brush. They immediately pulled him off; after which one of the boys ran off to a neighbor's house for assistance. As Soon as the boy had gone, the man again threw himself in the midst of the fire, and lay there till the boy returned with assistance. - On extricating him it was found that he was burnt in a most shocking manner. Medical aid was immediately obtained, but it was too late to be of any avail. The poor man lin- gered in great agony till Saturday afternoon, when death put an end to his sufferings. De- ceased was recently a butcher in Mount For- est, and was very intemperate. He leaves a wife and seven orphans. LONDON, Friday, Aug, 31, 1860. Sin, -Although Count Cavour's note in reply to that you were requested to hand to him did not give a statement of his intentions as precise and complete as the Government of her Majesty might have de- sired and expected, it nevertheless did not think it necessary to follow up the matter fur- ther. It considered that in substance that note put aside all idea of attack upon the States of the Emperor of Austria or upon those of the King of Naples., and that at the time it obliged the King of Sardinia to renounce the. cession of any portion of the Italian territory, naturally comprising the Island of Sardinia in that public engagement. I say a public en- gagement, because in his note Count Cavour refers to a speech made by himself in the name of the Government of the King in the sitting of the Chamber of Deputies of the 2Gth of May. Still, although Austria, France and Eng. - land have abstained from all interference in Sicily and Naples, there nevertheless exists a fear at Paris and at Vienna that the annex- ation of the Roman and Neapolitan States may be followed by an attack by the Italian forces upon the Venetian possessions of the Emperor of Austria. It is clear that such an attack could not take place without the assent of the King of Sardinia. It is equally clear that taking a legal view of the queation, the King of Sardinia has no excuse for breaking the treaty of Zurich, recently concluded aria signed.
