Lucknow Carolfest kicks off Christmas season!
The annual Lucknow Carolfest saw a full house at the United Church on
Dec. 4, 2013. The event saw seven local choirs and bands, including
Lucknow's Classic Band, United, Presbyterian and Christian Reformed
choirs, as well as South Kinloss Presbyterian Church, Trinity United Church
and St. Joseph's Kingsbridge Community choirs. Ken deBoer said the event
been "how we start Christmas here as a community" since about 1969.

Wanted man

A 33 -year-old Waterloo man
wanted by Waterloo Regional Police
Service for outstanding criminal
charges is in police custody follow-
ing an early morning arrest made
by Huron County OPP.
Huron OPP received information
that a wanted male maybe at a resi-
dence located on Belfast Road near
Kerry's Line in Ashfield-Colborne-
Wawanosh Township on Dec. 6.
Huron OPP attended the prop-
erty and spoke with two residents.
Police learned the wanted male
have had access to firearms so con-
tainment of the property was initi-
ated while additional specialized
units responded. West Region OPP
Emergency Response Team (ERT)
and Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU)
members along with an OPP
Canine team attended the scene to
assist Huron OPP with the search.
A search of the residence was
conducted early this morning
which resulted in officers locating
the wanted male in the basement of
the residence. He was arrested
without incident just after 3 a.m.
Police also searched a barn on
the property and located a stolen
Subaru Impreza. In addition, police
also seized a .22 calibre rifle and a
12 gauge shotgun.
The man was turned over to the
custody of Waterloo Regional
Police. He faces outstanding
charges for two counts of Breach of
Probation, Theft Under $5,000 and
Assault.
