HAWK Theatre featuring double bill this weekend!
HAWK Theatre is presenting two
plays in one night, with the Christmas
tree taking centre stage at this weekend
in Lucknow.
Both one -act plays feature the iconic
symbol of Christmas: the Christmas
tree.
The first production is 'A Charlene
Brown Christmas; followed by 'The
Christmas Tree' by Canada's foremost
playwright, Norm Foster.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Fri.
Dec. 6 and Sat. Dec. 7, and at 2:30 p.m.
on Sunday Dec. 8, at the Lucknow Town
Hall Theatre.
"Together, they're guaranteed to put
a smile on even Mr. Scrooge's face," said
HAWK's Maureen Matchett.
A Charlene Brown Christmas features
14 youth actors and singers in the adap-
tation of the Charles Schulz classic tale.
HAWK Theatre has given the Christ-
mas favourite a bit of an update, adding
more dialogue and some favourite
Christmas songs, Matchett said.
The Christmas Tree is written by pop-
ular Canadian humourist Norm Foster.
Two stressed out and jaded adults man-
age to find meaning at Christmas, as
they fight over the last Christmas tree in
the lot.
The theatre features "new, comforta-
ble chairs and an elevator" for theatre-
goers of all walks of life to enjoy.
