The Wingham Golf &
Curling Club enjoyed
another busy week despite
the less than stellar
weather conditions.
On Tuesday September
9th the ladies were great to
share their morning with the
senior men. The 20 ladies
finally had some golfing
weather and the gals took
full advantage of the fun in
the sun. Doug Neil led the
way in the senior morning
men taking home first place
honours with Ross Peacock
second and Bob Foxton
third. Peacock also claimed
closest to the pin while Ray
Walker sank the longest putt.
On Wednesday the club
played host to the llth
annual John Malick Memo-
rial senior men tournament.
The 56 golfers managed to
get their rounds in but many
of them finished the last
couple holes in a downpour
of rain Steve Nixon of the
Wingham club and Bob
Greer from Listowel tied for
low gross with great rounds
of 74 and were presented the
John Malick trophy from
Jon's daughter Donna
Anderson. Don Bone the
three time winner was one
shot back at 75 to claim lox

TAXES DUE REMINDER
The third instalment of the 2014 tax levy is due on
September 30, 2014. Tax payments must be received at the
municipal office by the due date. Tax payments can be made
in person at the municipal office, by regular mail, or at the
CIBC Goderich branch only. Interac/debit card services are
accepted at the office as well as post-dated cheques for your
convenience. Telephone /internet banking is available through
most major banking institutions. Pre -authorized payment is
available by completing a form from the office and providing a
VOID cheque. You may also go online to our website, complete
and remit this form/void cheque electronically. After hour
payments may be left in the letter slot located at the front door.
Taxes not paid by the due date are subject to interest of 1.25%
per month. Failure to receive a tax notice does not relieve the
taxpayer from responsibility for payment nor the liability of
penalty charges for late payment.

had terrible playing condi-
tions but 40 diehard golfers
managed to get their games
in despite the cold ,wet
windy weather.
This was three club night
for men's night but nobody
must have told Mike Haggitt
as he fired a sizzling round of
36 using only three clubs in
less than adequate playing
conditions. The longest putt
winners were Murray Cogh-
lin, Norm Watson and Dan
McPherson while the closest
to the pin winners were Bill
Quipp and Richard Watson.
The hidden scores were
picked up by Scott Helder
and Shaun Jolliffe.
Saturday the club was
pleased to host the wedding
of Jayla and Nick Henderson.
After the ceremony on the
first hole the 100 plus guests
enjoyed supper in the dining
lounge followed by the wed-
ding reception.
On Sunday September
28th the Wingham Golf and
Curling Club will be holding
the annual fall barbecue at
the club anyone wanting
tickets can contact the pro
shop or any member.

Senior Men
The winners of the senior men on Sept llth, 2014 were
Dean Tefler and Bruce Heimpel tied for lst, Dave Cooper and
Dave Bednarz tied for 3rd. Dave Bednarz won both of the
closest to the pins.
Mixed Senior
The mixed senior played stroke play on Sept 15th with Tom
Pegg, John Usher and Pauline Pegg all tied for 1st.
Barb Helm and Walter Arnold tied for 4th. Tom Pegg was
closest to the pin on #13 and no ladies hit the green on # 17.
Ladies Golf
The ladies played a game called Pink Nightmare on Sept
17th. The winners were Sally Park, Diane Leslie, Chris Wells
and Lorraine Arnold. The team of Pauline Pegg, Brenda Jones
and Rosalee Zettler took a few more strokes.

The men were definitely
showing off their finger mus-
cles at the Old School House
in Scone on Wednesday even-
ing claiming all positions.
There were three tables in
play which gave the following
results. High score was Neil
Cook with 53 points, Clare
Kuepfer with 47 and Al Carter
with 37 points. In the twenties
category Neil Cook had 32,
Clare Kuepfer had 30 and
Peter Carter has 22. Door
prizes were won by Peter
Carter and Cathy Kuepfer.
