CELEBRATE DEMOCRACY!
(A message from Jennifer Miltenburg)
As this notice goes to press, the municipal election of 2014 is still in
progress. But that's okay — the message is the same, regardless of
the results.
Thank you to all who supported my campaign — including my many
(self appointed) political advisors. Rarely have I been so overwhelmed by
support while being so tremendously entertained.
If we lost the election, well, Mamma always said "Mourn not what I have
lost, but celebrate who I am today". Words to live by... so SMILE.
If we won the election — WOO H00! Thanks to everyone who voted for me!
I will do my best to justify your faith in me. I am truly grateful.
To the new Council of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh:
Regardless of who won, it's time to put aside any personal differences and
ideologies, and work together for the betterment of the entire municipality.
(And if I'm not on the new council - check out my Facebook page
Jennifer Miltenburg for ACW Councillor. The ideas posted there are available
for use!).
To the People in the Ashfield Ward of ACW:
These are difficult times. Political disagreements between individuals have
caused personal discomfort. Whatever the new reality is in ACW, we must
face it together. Regardless of one's opinion of the K2 Wind project, we are
still friends and neighbours, bound to the land and to each other. Let's keep
that in mind.
To the Fools Who are Vandalizing the K2 Wind Project
(That's right. I said FOOLS.)
There is no justification for destruction of someone else's property. Period.
Whatever your motivation for the vandalism, be it anger, greed, envy, your
personal political ideology, or just plain ignorant opportunistic behavior - it
needs to STOP.
Vandalism is an act
of violence.
Violence begets
violence ... and
violence always
escalates.
Break the cycle of
violence - before /1114
someone gets hurt.
Ashfield is "God's
country" — and your
behaviour is not
welcome here.
