LCPS Cross Country Submitted On October 9th, 53 LCPS athletes traveled to Ain- sdale golf course in Kincar- dine for our annual regional cross country meet. Despite the cold weather, our runners preformed very well. Top finishers were: Tyke girls - Beth Nelson 8th, Jes- sica Bushell 7th; Tyke boys - Dakota Donaldson 8th, Brai- lin Hayes 29th; Junior girls Tika and Sam Hallam compete in the District Meet at Saugeen Bluffs for LCPS Junior Girls. October 15, 2014. - Raelyn Pennington 1st, Chasity M 13th; Junior boys - William Nelson 8th, Bran- don Metske 16th; Senior girls - Nicole Ward 2nd, Chasity Murray 8th; Senior boys - Justin Livingston 7th, Dale Ward 12th. On October 15 our run- ners were off to Saugeen Bluffs for the District meet, where they competed against approximately 15 other schools. Each division had large numbers of run- ners, 157 tyke girls being the largest group. Once again, our small school did an amazing job showing our spirit and slcill. Top finishers were: Tyke girls - Beth Nelson 30th, Jayden Maki 46th; Tyke boys - Dakota Donaldson 28th, Wyett Ward 91st; Junior girls - Raelyn Pennington 2nd, Chasity M 26th; Junior boys - William Nelson 48th, Riley Dowler 68th; Senior girls Nicole Ward 7th, Chasity Murray 43rd; Senior boys - Justin Livingston 35th, Dale Ward 37th. It was an exciting day. Coaches Mrs. Maki, Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Black are very proud of the effort of all our athletes! DATE: Thursday, October 23, 2014 COME & GO: 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. LOCATION: Edward Fuels 4282 Bruce County Road 4 North Teeswater Carter's Crokinole Report Peter Carter Friday, October 10th at 4:00 p.m. thirteen shooters with various talents came to Laney's in Teeswater for a fun evening of crokinole. After four complete games the players broke for supper to enjoy each others com- pany and perhaps meet a new friend. They then pro- ceeded to "shoot" it out with the following results. High lady was Jo -Ann Carter with 49 points 2nd place with 36 was Carole Cook and 3rd with 35 points was Marilyn Thompson. Jo -Ann Carter had 35 twenties, Marilyn Thompson shot 26 and Carol Cook had 24. The men had the closest competition yet with Clare Kuepfer first with 57, Peter Carter had 56 for second and Neil Cook 3rd with 52. In the same order they also claimed the twenties ranks with scores of 53, 52, and 44. Laney gift certificates went to Carol Cook and Peter Carter. Door prizes were claimed by Sharmane Carter, Al Carter, Neil Cook and Marilyn Thompson. It was an enjoyable even- ing and the next open invita- tion for anyone to attend is Saturday, November 8th at 1:30 p.m. Beginner players are most welcome. Another fun evening of crokinole was held at the Scone school house on Wednesday, October 15th. Results for the night were high Clare Kuepfer with 49, Al McLeod with 48 and Al Carter with 44. Top twenty shooters were Clare Kuepfer with 39, Al McLeod 27 and Neil Cook 25. Lucky draw winners were Sharmane Carter and Carman Hodg- kinson.
